* Pandemonium @ Pottawattomie Park

Last night at 9:04PM., the Chicago Police Department ordered a evacuation of Pottawattomie Park. That's correct, Pottawattomie Park was cleared of all it's park visitors. A police sweep closed down the park in question after a overzealous bunch of black youth started a major ruckus. At 9:20PM., the mission was deemed somewhat successful.

BLOGNOTES: Shortly thereafter, a 911 caller, Ms/Mr. Anonymous Neighbor said 40 to 50 kids were going down the Fargo/Hoyne area, jumping up and down on the neighbors cars. Police response was 'right on the scene' and witnessed no such jumping on cars action like the anonymous called described. Just a bunch of unsupervised youth walking down the street.

I'm surprised you missed the shooting/murder at Estes and Clark earlier in the day... FYI. Trib doesn't have it either.

I got the tail end of this incident on the scanner. Without more facts, I'm holding out on this story.

Oh so the police saw nothing? Lazy MFs! On Wednesday or Thursday I was coming home from work at 4:30 and I was parked right under the Morse El at 4:30 p.m. in front of that liquor store. Some crazy lady (?) was throwing a tantrum at three other guys and calling one of them a child molester and screaming at him about not being able to handle a woman blah, blah, blah. Three other guys were holding her down. I was concerned so I called 911 from the cell phone. I also turned on my police scanner. The call was dispatched immediately. As I listened the police responded back to the dispatcher that they were on the scene and didn't see anything going on. LIE. They weren't there. I know. What a bunch of shit. Good job 2431.

P.S. Jocelyn, It was nice to meet you on Friday.

Well what do you know -

A bunch of out of bounds "kids" owning a street, trashing cars and intimidating decent citizens.

Feels like I've heard this story somewhere before ...

Careful Craig ... you are not supposed to even acknowledge that such things ever happen here in "Happy Diversity Land".

. Another cop gave out a name and birthday (the squad tried to stop him from doing it over the air, to no avail). His name was something to the effect of Ahmad Shavaz, born in 1986. DOA a bit after 6, if I recall

First thing, you better be careful who you call a MF, you brave internet warrior. Secondly, it was probably Laura, the crazy black woman, who has been on Morse for at least 11 years and has almost every disease there is. Since you are so brave, why didn't you help her?

Wrong paste. This is the right one.

60645 nice to meet you too!

Bill is certainly cranky today.

I tend to doubt it was Laura as I've never heard her raise her voice. There are plenty of other candidates it could be other than her too.

Bill asks, "Since you are so brave, why didn't you help her?" I'm not a cop. That's why. I believe calling 911, as we are always instructed to do, was helping her. If the call had been responded to an officer doing their job could have helped her. No, it wasn't Laura. I know Laura.
