* Police Respond to Drive-by Killing

Agustine Esteban was only 20 years old and lived in Evanston, but was shot to death in Chicago. So last night, at the corner of Clark and Estes, the Chicago Police Department held a Outdoor Roll call for the Evanston resident at 7 p.m., in response to the drive-by shooting that took his life.

Neighbors gathered to watch from across the street at the laundry mat. One neighbor who didn't want to be identified said, "this is the first time in thirty years of living here I have ever seen anything like this."

Tonight at 6p.m., (at the same location) Ceasefire holds their circle prayer in response to the fatal shooting.

Some cities are currently deploying sound triangulation systems to find gunshot locations.

Could our hero, Joe take up this issue and get this implemented in 49?

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is an outdoor police role call supposed to do? The crime has already taken place and someone is dead.

It's a "show of force". They did two, two weeks ago in front of the Jordan School after that running, car to car gun battle. That is where an 11 year old was "hit by a fragment" according to the detective at the 2424 CAPS meeting.
But, as the offenders were fighting over a girl, "it could have happened anywhere".

That makes me feel SO much BETTER... NOT!
