* CAPS Beat 2431 Open Air Drug Market Thriving

Exclusive Look @ Drug Dealing in the 49th Ward

If the powers-that-be tell you there's no open air drug market in beat 2431, tell them to walk the beat once and a while. You can find the open air drug market everywhere - not just under the police camera's. Here we have a couple of guys sorting out their rocks to be sold on the street. One guy is distributing the product to the other salesman, one nugget at a time. They were working out of the green Dodge Caravan parked between Lunt and Morse on the east side of Glenwood. The license plate number is 625 4031. This occurred today at 8:45 a.m.

I got video too.

The photos are pretty clear - for any urban or RP newcomers who've never seen the action before - now you will know. This is a really blatant drug deal!

where were they storing the drugs Craig? inside the van or around it(inside the wheel wells)? Do they always park this van on Glenwood?

I didn't go anywhere. You did. You're banned for the rest of the day for being a idiot.

I was walking my dog the other afternoon and these two kids behind me did some smooth hand tricks. I saw some little baggy get tossed. Then they started asking about my dog (she's half German Shepard and looks like a Shepard puppy). They said "Man.. she looks like K-9." At first I was thinking ...all dogs are k-9s.... but then assumed they meant a drug dog. Then they walked down the west side of Glenwood.

An open air drug market that the whole ward knows about - and yet people will continue to say the cops are doing their jobs...

Forgot to mention, a police car 2431 was parked under the EL at Morse Avenue when I went down to score the license plate number off the van. The officer was reading the Sun-Times.

yes, i know i went there. and i was conceeding that you didn't/
want it to go there. but a valid observation none-the-less.

my presentation?
c+ for caustically creative?

These guys started working about 5:30 a.m., and are working beat 2431 as we speak.

heck, what's wee got to do with it?

i was making an observation, in my manner, that was highlighting a horse of a different color. which is the horse that you've been accused of intentionally ignoring, as a means of...........

Thanks Craig, I will look into it tommorrow morning.

Come on up to the Northpoint building at 7638-46 N Bosworth. Now that the city has forced Northpoint to unlock the security gates at the side entrances of the building, we have a new open air drug market. As soon as the police turn onto Bosworth from Howard or Jonquil Terrace, the dealers step back behind the steel gate and close it. Police drive by, dealer emerges and we're back in business. After calling Northpoint management to report it, I was told they had complaints from residents about drug dealing and gangs. She told me to call 911. They have security from 3 PM to midnight. That really helps with the problem!

Nice video. I don't know about the other two guys, but I see the one who jumped out of the van with the pattern on his jacket at the youth home on Greenleaf next to the alley just west of Sheridan all the time. Come to think of it, I see many of the kids from that house "hanging out" at the laundromat on Greenleaf and Glenwood all the time too.

Here ya go, craig - I just found this form on the City of Chicago website. Maybe if they got 15-20 of these forms submitted about the Rider building and environs every day, they might start to get a clue. Or not.

Well, shoot, I guess the direct link doesn't work. Go to the link below and scroll to the bottom of the page. There's a link to the form:

"Help Fight Drug Trafficking.
The information requested below will help the Chicago Police Department address the problem of drug trafficking in your neighborhood.
This information will be forwarded to the Chicago Police Department's Organized Crime Division. All information will be held in STRICT CONFIDENCE"

Have these pictures and video been submitted to any of the television news stations? I think they may be interested, especially if you add the touch of the police officer only steps away, lounging in his squad car reading the newspaper. HAVE you tried to submit it? If so, what was their response?

Have you sent this evidence to "Lap Dog" Devine, our lame duck do-litle State's Attorney? You should also send copies of it to each of the candidates running for the job next year and ask them what will they do about this?

I APPLAUDE YOU GUYS FOR THE UNDERCOVER WORK YOU GUYS BE DOING. BUT DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME AND TRY NOT TO SPEAK ON THE VIDEO. IT MIGHT NOT SEEM LIKE IT BUT ITS REAL DANGEROUS WHAT YOU GUYS BE DOING IF A GANG BANGER EVER FIND THIS SITE. THEY WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU GUYS. I KNOW HOW THEY WORK I KNOW HOW THEY ARE. BUT STILL I APPLAUDE YOU GUYS AND THE SAD THING THAT THE COMMUNITY IS THE REASON WHY ROGERS PARK IS NOT THE WAY IT USE TO BE DONT GET ME WRONG ITS STILL BAD BUT IT HAS IMPROVED AND ITS JOE MOORE THAT HAS TAKEN THE CREDIT. SOMEBODY REALLY HAS TO GET THE WORD OUT THAT JOE MOORE DOESNT DO NOTHING IN THIS WARD THAT IS THE COMMUNITY ITSELF THAT BE LOOKING OUR FOR EACH OTHER..

It's way too late for that. They know who I am.

In fact, one of the current crop of salemen was the guy who took a cel phone photo of me when I went to court to have one of his buddies prosecuted for breaking into the Rider Building in January.

What can I do but try to stay one step ahead of them and change my routine every now and then.

Craig, I don't want to be a pest, but I'm still asking: Have you submitted this to any of the media outlets? This seems like the kind of thing they would want to cover - especially when you add in the observation about police car 2431. If I'm way off base here, please let me know. THANKS

- PEACE -

These photos and video have been viewed by the people that need to view it, I'm happy to report.

Fargo Woman:

Unfortunately the video or photos would not show young "honor student" being shot or harassed by the Po Po, so the answer would be No, the media would not be interested.

Alert: Nobody gives a shit. Especially the media.
