* CAPS Beat 2431 Safety Tips

Joe Zekas from Yo Chicago said....> "I was in Rogers Park Saturday and Sunday, and stopped at the Morse El stop both days.

On Saturday the ladies were out working and being watched over. There were some sales taking place from a van parked along Glenwood Ave. It didn't seem a good time to be walking around with cameras."

BLOGNOTES: Joe's right folks. It's not good to walk around Morse Avenue with expensive camera equipment. And ladies, it's not safe to walk around with purses either.

Don't believe me, go to a CAPS 2431 meeting and find out yourself.

From the 'Official' July 16th 2007 CAPS Beat 2431 meeting notes, regarding females and safety. Officer Acquilles suggested that toting a purse is a ‘crime waiting to happen.’

Nothing like blaming the victim for asking for what they get!

No kidding. What you should find double hilarious is the fact Yo-Chicago chose to feature my website as to find out what's going on - as opposed to your website, DevCorp's website or even the alderman's website.

Isn't that hilarious Charlie?

And judging from the number of re-directed hits coming from their site today - they seem to have a rather large audience seeing first hand what Rogers Park is all about.

Birds of a feather?

I guess we found out "What's goning on" I feel terribly well informed.

Two guys handing out flyers and he can't get the audio of them speaking? The guy does some interesting stuff but that was no keeper. Sorry....

The Ben Meyer interview was a bit better IMO

Ah shut-up Kevin O'Neil. If I wanted to listen to your bullshit, I'd attend those propaganda meetings you co-host.

Craig, are you referring to the CAPS Beat Community Meeting as a"propaganda meeting"?

It was interesting to note the comments on the "blue mini van" doing a little business, this past week. Last night, thursday, about 10:00 pm the "blue van" was at it again, right on Morris and Greenview. I was shocked to see the occupants, arguing with a customer, quite loudly, over the price of the merchandise. Where are the police? It is not that the activities hasn't been verified, not only by film clips, but visual sightings, as well. After thirteen years in the neighborhood, I was so hoping that the crack dealers, and ladies of the night, might be in decline. However, they clearly, continue to florish in the neighborhood. When questioning a policeman a few weeks ago about our dear ladies, working Clark Street, late at night, his comment was interesting, after having looked at me as if "I had just fallen off the turnip truck"....quote: after all it is just life in the city unquote. No wonder, if feel, like I keep falling through the looking glass. Joel of Rodgerpark
