* "I remember the look in his face," Granados-De La Rosa said. "He just looks us all over, and he goes up to my friend Dante … and he goes, 'What crew are you running with?'
* "And then he goes 'You're a gangbanger, and you're a gangbanger too,' and he points to Corey." Koger confirmed that the officer did indeed call him a "gangbanger" and felt that such comments constituted harassment.

The Loyola officers are nice and they mean well, but they are definately goofs! They carry guns and are certified law enforcement officers by the State of Illinois yet CPD get's stuck cleaning up their mess sometimes!
Unfortunately, racial discrimination is a problem on a lot of college campuses. When I was going to Northern IL years ago, there were racial incidents that involved not only campus police, but professors and students with biased attitudes as well. Loyola's best bet is not to play this down, but deal with it.
Judging who is a gang member by the clothes they wear? Ridiculous.
What gets me is that all had ID to prove they were students as opposed to trespassers. Obviously, these are all young people who are interested in getting an education, instead of being known to the police.
SESNitivITY training? Jesse Jackson?
Next thing you know the idiot alderbeasts will stand up to the Mayor on a park issue. OOPS.
I have died and gone to hell.
We really don't have a clear picture of what happened, but I suggest we get out a guitar and sing some folk songs.
Invite Jesse Jackson to speak. Tell him there will be cameras.
GRRRRRRRRR.
