Part three in a four part series....
Doing puzzles on the job while sitting on the bucket. Lounging under a tree, just enjoying the day.
How many of you in the private sector of business can do that all day long?
How about taking the company tractor out for a little cruise around the block?
Well, if you work for the city of Chicago, these activities are all part of the daily grind. And guess what? The money to pay for this fun is coming out of your pockets.

What a sad excuse for news! Jesus whoever is taping GO BACK TO YOUR CUBICLE.. U KNOW NOTHING OF CONSTRUCTION! If the guy says they are waiting on concrete... guess what there is no other work to be done. Do you even know what the hardest job in construction is? CONCRETE! Tape them when they're poring concrete and you'll see more work then you've done in a year. Did you know once concrete sets, u can't change that? There is always downtime on every job, I have worked with an excavating and general contractor in the past and understand this. I didn't like seeing my crew standing around, but when there's no concrete we have no choice.
Do you even understand union rules??? Did you know some trades are guaranteed 8 hours just for showing up? So even if they only worked 2 hours they still get 8 hours pay. No u didn't!
Also the guy on the tape points out graffiti on a street light box. First off, where do you get off thinking this guy should clean off graffiti? Not his job... He could risk losing his union card which = losing his JOB if he does any work or touches any tool that is not approved by his local.
GO BACK TO YOUR CUBICLE... You’re lucky we don't tape you wandering off on websites while at work. I wonder how much time you waste looking a blogs at work.
"where do you get off thinking this guy should clean off graffiti?"
I would prefer that the city workers do their own job, in a timely fashion.
I believe it is in the best interest of the taxpayers, that city workers don't slack off the entire day.
Especially if, by the end of the day no concrete was poured.
