* Shots Fired @ Pratt and Bosworth

Wednesday Crime Report

At 4:35 p.m. yesterday, two shots were fired at 1529 West Pratt Avenue. Two male blacks with white t-shirts were seen fleeing south on Bosworth - and one male black 16 year old teen with a red hoodie and dreadlocks was seen fleeing west on Pratt said a witness.

Minutes later a large gang-fight was called in a few blocks north at Greenleaf and Ashland. A female/black was involved and said to have had a knife in her hand. Both cases were with-in 100 yards from a school.

In the evening - and all through the night, until the morning hours, the open air drug market salesmen were working the 1300 block of West Morse, North Glenwood, Lunt and all points in-between. Better known as CAPS beat 2431.

The duplex/row house on the Southeast corner of Pratt and Bosworth appears to be a gang hang out. There are always many, many unsavory characters milling around and the area is full of trash. Having drove by that intersection at about 4:37, I say good for the gun shots - it cleared everyone out.

More neighbors are tired of the shootings. Crime is being covered up to protect Joe Moore's 'crime is down' lies.

Shootings North of Howard.

I noticed a greater presence of red hoodies and T's on Clark between Albion and Pratt. Also more grafitti in the area.

What's not known. Did the white t-shirt guys fire on the red-hoodie dude, or vice versa?

I am going to continue to report this activity to my C.A.P.S. facilitator and I am sure that that will make a difference. Local government is always very responsive to problems their constituents reveal. Alderman Joe Moore and Commander Bruce Rottner are Fucking Jokes. What do they actually do? Please tell me.

Red Hoodies?? Black P Stones usually represent that color, that is only when all their extra long white t-shirts are at the cleaners though! Your Gangster Disciples will usually sport Blue/Black, Latin Kings will always represent the Black/Gold (they favor Pitts Steelers attire).

Red Hoodies = possibly Black P Stones who are in a heated conflict with Gangster Disciples!

Craig,
Not sure if this is that well known, but their are a lot of " white T-shirts" hanging around the house on the north-east corner of Touhy and Greenview. Not a usual sight in this area but has been the talk lately. Concerning-

Stop blaming Joe Moore or pretending that there is anything he can do to stop any of this. He can't. Your anger should directed at the Mayor and the Superintendent of Police. Those are the two that are responsible for failing to staff the Police Department properly. THEY are the ones that have taken YOUR Gang Teams away from you and sent them to the westside to fight crime because those districts are overwhelmed and can't handle the work load. THEY are responsible for taking your Sgts. and Lts. and shipping them to other places in the City because there are not enough of them Citywide. THEY are the ones that allow the hiding of Officers in inside positions when they should be on the street fighting crime. THEY are the ones that are responsible for not arming, staffing and suppling the Chicago Police Department with what they need to get the job done. They and they alone. Joe Moore has NOTHING to do with it and there is very little that he can do to solve this.

I'm not an apologist for Joe Moore. But if your looking for someone to blame, then let's blame those that are responsible.

By the way, The house on the corner of Touhy and Greenview with all the sentry's in white T-shirts is 2 blocks from Joe's office-

Joe Moore represents the local people on this neighborhood. He should not be in D.C. protesting the war in Iraq when he has a war in his own backyard. You are an apologist. He should be organizing constituents to gather with the police in these areas to fight these assholes. Either you are with us or against us. They are all to blame. Wake the Hell Up!

OK RP4life, I will bow to your insight on the way things are done. I know nothing and will remain silent on these issues. You can enlighten us with your knowlege.

big daddy, even if it the case that the mayor and the superintendant are responsible for the lack of police resources in this area, I have to agree with rp4life on this. Who else is supposed to represent the needs of our ward to the rest of the city government if not our alderman? Isn't that why we have an alderman, to get our ward what it needs? If we have a gang war (and a drug war, hookers, sinkholes, pigeon-crap, homeless people in the park, etc), he should be fighting for us, not his own agenda. There's plenty he could be doing, as well as getting other aldermen in neighboring wards to join him since this affects them also to some extent as well - if he weren't an ineffectual ass, that is.

I don't know anything about this Joe Moore other than the fact that he's the Aldercreature. And yes, he should be representing you. All I'm saying is that it's foolish to blame him for the crime conditions in Rogers Park. The blame belongs at the doorstep of the Mayor and the Superintendent of Police. THEY are the ones that have virtually destroyed the Police Dept and are responsible for what does or does not happen. They are the ones that are diverting resources from YOUR neighborhood to others. They are the ones that are failing to do what they are paid to do.You are being shortchanged and it's being done by them, not Joe Moore. If you want to continue to blame him then expect more of the status quo, because when you direct your anger in the wrong place, those that could make a change sit back and continue to do nothing or dream up grandiose plans which accomplish nothing other than to give them the ability to SAY they are doing something. If you want to shout into the wind then have at it.
