* Joe Moore's Staff is Clueless

The Chicagoist called Joe Moore's office today to get a answer to a question. They were told what I've been telling you for years. They know nothing.

IF I WAS IN THE ALDERMAN OFFICE- WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING AFTER THE JUDGE TURNED IT DOWN,
THINK IT TURNED OUT TO BE A TOTAL EMBASEMENT, SURE THESE ALDERMAN DIDN'T SCORE WITH THE POLICE WHO PUT THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE EVER DAY-

Don't the ALDERMEN 28 have anything moe important to due than sue the city of Chicago for name of policemen and their misdeeds?

What other peole go out, into homes and try and solve the domestic.
They step in to shotguns, drug dealing, drug using and hopefully no guns !
I have had multimple interaction with the police that was a seriously escalting. The police were so good, so patient!
They were some of the best deesaclators !
The mischief maker is presently doing work away for the home.!
The police aren't perfect.
Let's go in to every grocery store and list any criminal cases all the employees may have participated.
The lawyers offices, the bankers.....I am not tying to pick on anyone.
JUST REMEMBER .....
THE POLICE WANT TO HELP!
LET'S get a city budget passed.
Let our elected pompous , arrongant politicians pass the bills in the Congress and quit wasting money!
Remember the elected official in Springfield...he flies at cost to you and me to fly back and forth between Chicago and Springfield?
He forces the legislators to remain in Springfield at a cost of $40,000 a day.
How many teachers could be paid with that money?
What ever role one plays, don't forget we are all just human.

MadeInRogersPark,
Although I agree that 99% of the police do a fine and important job, you'll never get me to believe that just 4 officers can rack up 408 complaints and only 3 of the complaints are found to be true by the Police Office of Professional Standards.
That's just ridiculous.
If you ran a business, you wouldn't keep people with this kind of record on staff. Nor should the city.

inkjar... putting their life on the line doesn't have ANYTHING w/ what we are talking about.

Who cares they had NO comment. Yea so the alderman's office is supposed to know and have a comment on every judgment handed down the second its handed down. IT IS PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT THEY DIDN'T READ THE RULING YET AND THEREFORE DON'T HAVE A COMMENT. remember people its politics, they have to word everything "politically Correct"

Why is it that every Malpractice accusation against a doctor is PUBLIC record, but we can't even review our own police. It’s A JOKE. even if it was just the alderman who were to review it, it would be better than total privacy.

AND. we're not talking about 1 or 2 complaints a year, the people at the top of the list supposedly have many more complaints than that.

One more thing. TRANSPARENCY is the key to DEMOCRACY and EQUALITY

Alderman Joe Moore's office may not have known about the list. OK, I can go with that. What troubles me is that they evidentially didn't know he had petitioned the court for those names - either by himself or as part of a group. I find it a bit distressing that the Alderman's own staff doesn't know what he is doing. But then again, why should they be any different from his actual constituents?

Regarding the need for a "politically correct" response to questions like this - I strongly suggest the Alderman draft a statement regarding actions such as these (i.e. newsworthy) at or near the time he takes them so that his staff will have adequate responses for the media and other interested parties when they ask. But then again, this might conflict with his objective to keep us in the dark until something he does turns out to be successful, have the desired effect, or otherwise turns out to be viewed as a positive action. Oh, well, it was just a suggestion.

- PEACE -

the bad apples cost us taxpayers millions of dollars every year. yes, most cops are great people. but the job attracts the wrong sort as well. like jon burge, for example. it is notoriously difficult to do anything about it.
joe has resisted ritchie's plan to just white wash this shit, and larry sufferedin includes this problem in his campaign issues.
support the good guys, yes, but supporting the bad guys does as much to undermine "law and order" as anything we could possibly come up with.
it is way past time for chicago to deal with this crap the right way.

Remember just one thing.....all these are against the police right now are accusations!
Don't the police have the same right as you and me?
Aren't they innocent until proven guilty?
Personally, I am sick and tired of how people in general go against the police and the fire department for all that matters.
All these guys and gals are doing is just protecting the public......or trying.
The odds they face are really extraordinary.
Yes there are definitely some scrubs who somehow magically slipped thru the screening proces but seriously, before the alderman 28 waist time suing the city of Chicago , let them lie their laundry in the public domain.
None of them are perfect.
Neither am I. Neither are you.
My point is why should the ALDERMEN 28 be wasting taxpayer $$$ on something that will eventually come out in the wash.
There are more important issues right now.
Pass school funding!
Improve the Kid Care Insurance funding.
My friend has two sons with hemophilia
- the blood transfusion that will really help them is not covered by blagovich' Plan - he neglects to tell the public that
Give the transfusion or marrow that is needed and give it now.
Provide housing for those who need it.
Provide $$$$ for the gas bill so an elderly woman can remain in her family home.
Please ask gov't officials to spend their time doing what they were elected to do.

Ok first I would say that no person goes into a career with cruel intentions. No person wants to be a cop to profile, abuse, or kill anyone. I personally believe every person who wants to be a cop starts with good intentions.

Obviously, everyone is human made in MADEINROGERSPARK. I sure hope you are too. With that said, we hold our public servants to a higher degree. Personally, I do not think enough. The job inherently has a level of public scrutiny. They should. If you cannot handle the stress than there are plenty of jobs that are less stressful.

Want to talk about wasting...
Let us talk about the MILLIONS of dollars we have already spent on John Burge and the INHUMANE ATROCITIES he supervised and committed and now WE MIGHT HAVE TO PAY FOR HIS DEFENSE... NOW that’s BS

This country is supposed to be the most developed and in the history of humankind. Even within our own country, I like to hope that Chicago can be on the forefront of liberalizing the public policy that shapes our societies norms. Racial profiling, torture, ganging up and assaulting people inside of bars, extortion, blackmail, robbery, MURDER, those are all inhumane acts that should only be happening in third world countries. WE CAN’T BRUSH THAT OFF as, “oh we’re all human and make mistakes.”

I agree also that every person has the right to due process and the day in court. The problem is that police officers, overall, are never held accountable for their actions. The OPS (Office of Professional Standards) or civilian oversight board and the CPD are so buddy buddy with each other its no wonder that complaints are never dealt with appropriately. Police are not held accountable because of the fact that their records are never held to Public EYE!

As I write this, my friend was just extorted today by a Illinois State patrolman. He was speeding down to St. Louis (everyone knows that a NO NO!), the first thing the cop says is “you were speeding do you have 100 DOLLARS?”!!!! I cannot tell you how many times I have seen my friend profiled and discriminated against. I have been stopped and searched many times before walking down Sheridan with a friend of mine (He was black, (and apparently looked like a drug dealer) and I was a clean cut white boy). They automatically thought that I was a suburban white boy from Loyola trying to buy drugs.

Brings me to my next point. These unlawful acts and unjusts are not always the fault of bad character. There is systematic oppression, racism, and sexism that occur throughout every corner of our society. We must change public policy and thought to change the way the disenfranchised are dealt with. IF WE CHOOSE TO HOLD OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS TO A HIGHER STANDARD THAN WE FORCE THEM TO BE! We cannot just brush off this as mistakes or bad days, when a doctor makes a mistake people DIE. When a cop makes a mistake, Peoples RIGHTS are VIOLATED!
