* Headless Animals Found on Sherwin Beach

This morning a couple of dead animals were found on Sherwin beach, just off the shoreline of Lake Michigan. One is definitely a rooster, the other looks like a sheep. As you can see by the exclusive photographs, both are missing their heads. Police and Animal Control were called. Nothing further at this time.

This is bizarre.

I'm told by neighbors that the three beaches along Eastlake do have people/groups that sacrifice animals at night.

You could have dispensed with the gruesome pictures and still gotten the point across, Craig.

I'm with INKJAR. This looks like some sort of religious thing.

May all the dieties of all the world's religions forbid that I should dis someone else's indiginous culture or innocent native faith, but this is just too brutal and sickening.

Once more I am uneasy about the kind of people I'm surrounded by, and not just in Rogers Park, but everwhere.

I remember seeing a black rooster running around the neighborhood. It was a bit amusing. I figured either an unsuccessful Santoria sacrifice or a cock that successful fled a fight. Animal control is never quick enough to deal with this sort of thing. Earth to Animal Control. . . one challenge to AC is that it was told to cease issuing humanitarian cages per Illinois law. Where are our Illinois legislators, when the Law Department needs a variance? Where are our Corporation counsels for that matter? Is there a paid Chicago advocate in that house?

I heard this happened on the Day of the Dead, a religeous holiday.

I'm glad I didn't bump into this, as it is right in my backyard.
