* North of Howard News: A concerned neighbor blogger called police at 10:30 a.m. today as she found 10 to 15 shell casings in the gangway located in the 7600 block of North Bosworth. The police checked to match this multi-shell case finding with previous calls for shots fired in the area. They came up with a possible match. At 04:26 hundred hours, (4:26 a.m.) a call for shots fired came in at Howard and Ashland.
* Exclusive Breaking News a Bit South of Rogers Park: A attempted bank robbery took took place this morning at the Bridgeview Bank, 5345 N. Sheridan Rd., at 10:10 a.m. Police were able to semi-identify the attempted robbers from witnesses who say one was were wearing blue jumpsuit and both had ninja masks. Both had what's described as tan knit caps. One is about six feet tall, tan jacket, blue jeans, tennis shoes. The ninja mask robbers tried to enter the bank at around 10:10 a.m. by banishing semi-automatic handguns at the locked door. No one wanted to buzz them in. The robbers were described as black man because a witness saw their faces as they removed their ninja masks and fled west on Balmoral. No injuries were reported during the botched robbery.
* Back Home in CAPS beat 2431: Lunt and Glenwood. Someone broke into a car and when they finished taking what they took, they left a pair of gloves behind as evidence.
* More Back Home Strange Sightings: Late last night, I caught the tail-end of a 911 call regarding someone seeing a construction tractor being driven north of Howard, well after work hours. Seemed suspicious.

Interesting lag on the 911 call times. Or perhaps there were two incidents.

blogpants: I dialed 311 first and told the dispatcher about anon hearing early morning shots and the casings in the alley. She transferred me to 911.
It was a non-emergency at the time of my call = 311.
Thanks for the correction Toni. The dispatcher didn't mention you were switched from the 311 system to 911.
Craig, next time you hear me on your scanner try calling me for the real scoop. We don't want readers all confused.
As a 'regular' caller to both 311 & 911, as situations require and one who monitors a scanner, I'm often amazed at how my calls to 911 are 'broadcast and described' by the dispatcher, as well as occasional 'banter' back from the assigned beat car. Some interesting stuff; sometimes makes you wonder about 'citizen participation', as espoused by CAPS!.
