About 30 minutes earlier, police reporting hearing gun shots in the 1500 block of Birchwood (east of Clark street in Chicago; Birchwood is the first street south of Howard).
Blognotes: Hey, Bernard in Chicago. Did you report these shootings to your alderman? This way Joe Moore could inform the 49th ward residents on his community chat website. How about Toni at 24/7 Howardwatcher? Don't you think your own community of Rogers Park needs to know this information too?
Bernard from Chicago Speculates on Alderman Rainey's Community Website....> "I sent an e-mail to our list updating everyone . . . including a reminder to always call 911, repeatedly if necessary, and lock their back door. (Do people think this is a gated community? Amazing.) There was apparently a party or something going on last night. People at Birchwood & Hoyne reported a group of nearly 40 people, mostly early 20s hanging around there last night. May be connected to shooting, may not. But the group quickly dispersed when police arrived. I think that was around 9 pm, just before the shooting. Just an update.
