* CAPS COURT ADVOCACY NEEDED TODAY

{bumped}
SAVE THE DATE: TUESDAY – JANUARY 22, 2008

WHAT: Jocahan Pullum is charged with gang loitering at 1533 W. Pratt
WHERE: Cook County Circuit Court – Branch 29 - Belmont & Western
WHEN: Tuesday, January 22, 2008 – 1:00PM

Jocahan Pullum was arrested on October 4, 2007 for gang loitering at 1533 West Pratt.

1533 W. Pratt is the CHA building on the south-east corner of Pratt and Bosworth and has been mismanaged by Housing Resource Center for years. This CHA building has been an on-and-off hotspot for as long as Housing Resource Center has been involved with it but things were especially hot this past year.

CAPS doesn't usually make a big deal out of a gang loitering arrest but this case is different because it fits in with the larger problem.

The word on the street is that Pullum is a drug dealer and gang organizer. He uses smaller children to do his dirty work such as delivery of the drugs to customers. Pullum is a low-life. Whatever he gets he deserves it and more.

A strong turnout in court may send the message to Pullum that he isn’t as anonymous as he thought and he may decide to take his business elsewhere. A strong turnout by the community may also send a message to the court that we are fed up with business as usual on our streets.

I have to be at work that day, but as someone who lives down the alley, where or who can I write to to attest to the sh-- that goes on at that corner?
