You've Got the Power - Use it!


You've got the power in your vote. But, you have to be registered to use it. Are YOU registered? If not, you have options.

Options to register to vote include:

* Downloading a voter registration application. This form must be received by Tuesday, January 8th, 2008.

* Registering at any Illinois Secretary of State driver's license facility.

* Registering in-person at the Chicago Election Board offices, 69 West Washington Street, Suite 600, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

* By obtaining the mail-in form at any Chicago Public Library - Rogers Park Branch of the Chicago Public Library, 6907 North Clark St.

* On Tuesday, January 8th, go to Chicago City Hall or the Chicago Board of Elections office at 69 West Washington Street, Suite 600, where the Election Board will offer voter registration up to the midnight deadline.


To register to vote, persons must be citizens of the United States and be at least 18 years of age by the Feb. 5 primary. When registering through a deputy registrar or at the Board of Election office, a person needs to show two (2) valid pieces of identification, one with a residence address. You've got the power to make change happen when you vote. Register - Vote!

You might want to add absentee ballots are available at the County Clerk's website.
If you are out of town it is important to get your vote in before someone sees that you are out of town and trys to take it from you

there is also early voting for those who are not worried by electronic voting machines. i believe the site for this area is pottawatomie park.

Many registered voters in Illinois are unable to vote in person at the polling place on election day. Early voting was created to allow the voter to vote in a designated polling place during the 22nd day through the 5th day preceding an election without having to supply an excuse or reason. This document provides general information regarding the correct procedures to follow in order to vote early in Illinois.


unfortunately, the campaign around here is just getting started because everyone has been in iowa.

Were you expecting a miracle or something? Expecting David Fagus to finally do something in terms of increasing voter registration or turnout in the rotten bourough known as the 49th Ward? You should know better by now!

Thats only for the primary they will be able to register for the general election.
