* Joe Moore in "Damage Control" Mode

Joe Moore Breaks Election Promise

Joe Moore is committed to a "Forever Open, Free & Clear Lakefront" - Unless You've Got $1,250 Dollars in Campaign Contributions

The Chicago Journal blasted Joe Moore in this weeks addition over the hasty and unpopular backing of a minuscule 23 space parking lot just feet from the lake.
Residents lobbied for the building to be leased to the Chicago Park District, but Moore said that the park district expressed no interest in the site because it had too many other unfunded capital projects. When word hit the streets that the building was coming down, Gordon said that the 30-year-old Lakefront Protection Ordinance needs to be revisited. Gordon, who lost last year's heated 49th Ward aldermanic runoff by a wafer-thin 254 votes, called Moore's Tuesday e-mail "damage control." Source.

When it comes to decision making, the greedy Joe Moore chooses to help campaign contributors before listening to the residents of his OWN ward. Now, Moore has to back-track and cover his deceitful trail of lawyer talk lies. Guess what? The Chicago Journal/News Star isn't buying Joe's 'Smoke and Mirror' back room deal on this one.
We're not lawyers, but it would seem that since demolition was not spelled out under the ordinance's exemptions, the building should have been given the protection it deserved and granted a hearing before the Chicago Plan Commission. In our age of development run amok we need to protect our most precious natural resource-the city's lakefront-from the abuses of fat cats and elected officials. Source.

Blognotes: After a very questionable win in last years run-off election - by a "wafer-thin" margin no less, Joe Moore still has a very big public image problem. It's great to see the Chicago Journal cover this 'tear down' travesty. Joe Moore shows his shortcomings as a Alderman in this sad story - as told by the Chicago Journal's, Lorraine Swanson.

When it comes to dealing with his constituents openly and honestly- 'Jabber-Jaw' Joe Moore continues to spin. Our 49th ward Alderman is reactive, not proactive.

Now, in the first quarter of 2008, Moore is in "damage control" mode. Why? Because Joe Moore got caught being a lying, sell-out of a public official. He'd probably auction his son's soul on e-bay for a campaign contribution to buy his way out of this mess?

Joe Moore said...> "We did everything within our limited time and resources to search for a new tenant to take over the building."

Translation: Between 7/1/2007 to 12/31/2007, I was busy raising $101,770.00 in campaign contributions for myself from various developers - and traveling around the country campaigning for Barack Obama.

In today's tight and ever slumping economy, the poor alderman's six figure salary doesn't cover the bills. The REAL money is made in campaign contributions.

Forever open free and clear lakefront??? Have you tried walking this "OPEN" lakefront from say Touhy to Fargo.

Can't get thru can you?

Stop the double talk and make sure you go after the appropriate condo associations who have taken this and fenced it off for their own good. Why aren't you going after them?????

The only good thing about the continuing antics of Lying Joe Moore is that should Barack Obam become President, Obama could name Moore as a special envoy to some place like North Korea. The government there will take one look at Moore and his career record of nonstop BS, lies and do-nothing actions that they'll laugh at him nonstop for four years, and be unable to cause America or the world any trouble!

Otherwise, let us hope that the US Attorney will finally get around to nailing Moore's sorry butt!

lakefrontlarry makes a very good point.

From what I understand, the lakefront is public property, and appropriating any portion of it for private use, as many condo associations in Edgewater and RP have done, is a violation of our riparian rights.

This is a major issue, and we need to go to work on it.

To show joey moores spin this just in from his lastes e-mail!

"Under Commander Rottner's leadership, the 24th District last year ranked first in the city in percentage reduction in crime."

Yes if crime isn't logged in from what I see & read on Graig blog I don't know about crime being down.

As we keep seeing from the facts you bring up Graig, I hope the voters of the 49th ward face the fact that joeys "greening of the 49th ward" means, money in joeys pocket from contributions from developers! It's nice to see the "Play for Pay" as the Tribune wrote about is alive and well in our ward!

I was going to include that in my story today. I knew Joe was going to send out a 'crime is down' email blast.

But he one upped himself and outed a promotion before it was suppose to be officially announced to act like he knew something he first read on the 'Broken Heart' Classic Joe.

You're so predictable. I warned you to stop coming here while wearing your tin-foil hat, Mo Cahill. You're nothing more than a tool. A kool-aid drinker. Your warped opinion means squat here. MOVE ON.

I heart the R.P. said...

This is really sickening. Just awful.
