Around 8:45 PM, the scanner went off the hook with multiple calls for shots fired around Warren Park. Police think it's just fireworks. But the neighbors don't.
Just got back from my morning walk. Spotted a NEW, WORKING DRUG MARKET HOUSE on MORSE, near Sheridan. Wonder if "Sergeant" Steve Caluris wants to know where this new drug den is? I'm sure not going to tell Joe Moore. He'll screw it all up -- and have the officers going after the wrong home.
I live right near Warren Park. I can say with 100% certainty that it was fireworks.
It was the kind that goes up in the air and explodes. It looked like it was coming from the secluded northeast side of the park.
Fireworks have actually been a problem lately. Some assholes in the building behind me have been lighting firecrackers for the past few weekends. It's not a big stretch of the imagination to guess that they're the ones who lit the ones in the park last night.
Glad to see this posted here, news from the "other" Rogers Park. I was out walking my dogs with my husband last night when the fireworks went off - it was so loud and lasted such a long time we didn't register them as fireworks at first.
It would have been merely annoying if we hadn't been walking our spooky dog, who immediately began screaming and thrashing - we were VERY LUCKY that we didn't lose him. My husband had to tackle him and finally pick him up and run to keep him from backing out of his collar.
So that was me screaming "You fucking assholes!" last night, FYI. May they blow themselves up.

Thanks for the update, Brian.
