North Shore School Contractor Selective Expertise

What did Moore and Moore pal Triem know and when did they know it?
Update on the Demolition of 1217 W. Chase
(former North Shore School Building)
Blast e-mail to constituents
March 11, 2008 [the day after North Shore School Demolition Day]

Dear Neighbor,

I am writing to bring you up to date on the status of the old North Shore School building at 1217 W. Chase. As you may recall, I hosted a community meeting on this issue last July [2007]. ... I asked
[Moore campaign contributor] Ms. [Swanette] Triem to appear at a public meeting last July [2007] to share her plans with the community. ... The building required a complete gutting to remediate pervasive mold damage, and also required a new roof. A contractor hired by Ms. Triem estimated it would cost at least $1 million to bring the building up to code. ...

Sincerely,
Joe Moore
What amazing selective expertise the North Shore School "contractor" had! A "contractor" with the expertise to evaluate the integrity of the roof AND detect mold infestations, identify the species, and determine it to be a variety dangerous to humans, by eye-ball, without need for elaborate lab testing! Wow! The "contractor" identified over $1M in code deficiencies, yet this same "contractor" somehow MISSED deadly asbestos pipe wrapping in his walk-through of the North Shore School?

Moore presented this "contractor's" expert opinions at a public meeting which weighed the fate of the North Shore School. Further, Moore passed this "contractor's" opinions along to constituents in a blast e-mail. Wouldn't you hope due diligence on the part of a public servant might include checking the guy's background, or perhaps actually reading his report?
