A neighbor sent me this email below. I'm betting 10 to 1, like me, the writer knew contacting the Alderman's office would do no good. So, instead, sent this information to the widely read and most popular, Mister 'Broken Heart'.
Hey Craig; You know that rainbow hippie guy living on the beach; He is from St. Louis, just hanging out here for the summer, Guess what? He also has 7 kids!!!!!!! (all by different women). He hangs out with the neighborhood high school kids smoking pot and doing psychedelics. The Chicago Park District lifeguards are protecting him; if i had to guess they "party" with him. He has a laptop that the lifeguards let him charge up the the prat base station. Long story but my wife left her ipod outside and he took it. I know its against park rules to camp on the beach. Then there's these exclusive findings from super sleuth, Tom Mannis.
Signed;
What's up with this?
The Bench spoke with the Loyola Park beach dweller. He calls himself "Rainbow" and describes himself has a staunch liberal. He told me about his experiences as a prisoner around the country.Well, there you have it. Rainbow is getting a pass from the lifeguards. And Rainbow loves to party on the beach with the lifeguards too.
"Rainbow learned valuable skills in those lockups. He showed me, for example, how to make a marijuana pipe out of the foil wrapping on a colored artist's pencil.
Do the lifeguards mind him being there? "They don't mind," he said, "I earn my keep by cleaning the beach." Litter all around his camp site, Rainbow said this with a straight face." Source.
As for building a long-term campsite on the beach? That's a different story. Joe Moore's Beach Zoning Committee meets later this month. I believe they'll send out a email blast regarding this matter when the 'Rubber Ducky' club votes to either allow 'Rainbow' to stay - or force him to move off Loyola Beach. I believe, if history serves me correctly, it all depends on how much sand 'Rainbow' puts in Joe Moore's 'Bucket'. If you know what I mean.

If the Morse area gang bangers and crackheads knew he had a laptop in that tent I'd wager that he would not have it for much longer.
I've seen that guy diving through dumpsters behind buildings on Loyola Av.
This guy's been coming to Rogers Park for at least 5 years now. He sat down with my husband and I and some neighbors once when we were having a picnic and just made himself at home as if we had actually invited him or knew him.
Rainbow loves to get others to kill innocent people, Rainbow is as crazy as Charles Manson, Rainbow needs to move on.
What a "colorful" character he is.
never mind he did not take the ipod. He's OK, but he still a dirt bag.(lol)
wow, nice story everyone. its almost like each story gets nuttier. i might as well clear things up with stories i've heard because it seems to be a lot of hating directed towards him and i believe hate does not lead to a peaceful resolution.
-he has 5 kids with not all different women. that IS still a lot of kids to not be raising
-he is friends with some lifeguards but not others
-a lot of people party, or "party"
-his laptop is broken and i suppose it is a poor quality to let someone use their electricity
-rainbow told me he did not take an ipod that a previously irritated woman claimed to have accidentally left on the beach. maybe this was a different situation but he told me he found someone's bag with nice expensive belongings one day and left it by his camp, finding later that someone threw his camp away
-he has much passion in his life, sometimes misdirected, but from what i've seen, he tries to recycle, reduce, reuse
-dont be naive about making marijuana pipes, they can be made using #2 writing pencils, gas masks, cucumbers, apples, exhaust pipes. at least he wasnt telling you the best weapons to make
-i usually had seen him picking up garbage, but just recently he said he would take a hiatus to see how high the garbage piles up. i told him probly not too high because i also pick up litter whenever i can. also the garbage strewn about his site, maybe it was gold to him?
-we (you) have used blog comments to ascertain information about rainbow and condemn him for acts he allegedly engages in, blog comments that oddly all appear to have a heavy bias against this person
-he wouldnt care if someone stole things he had, i have not seen him act possessive although he might like to use the things again. also gang bangers sound like they want to comb the beach for an elusive beachbum purported to possess some degree of a laptop
-he does dive through dumpsters. refer back to reduce reuse recycle. also he thinks loyola kids are stupid for throwing away such nice things, brand new often
-it is unorthodox for someone to climb uninvited into a social situation. did anyone tell him that no one wanted to regard him?
-everyone loves to get others to kill innocent people, everyone is as crazy as Charles Manson, everyone needs to move on. this was a fun comment, i changed rainbow to everyone and it retains its logical disparity that if rainbow claims innocence, he would love to get others to kill himself. i dont think that would last long. or maybe i misread dorothyparker, was that sarcasm in his defense?
-he is very colorful and full of stubborn opinions. i suggest if one needs to dispatch him to remind him that opinion and dog shit are both free but not everyone wants them
-that was mature of themanwith... to update his post. it is true that rainbow often bad, as he does not have a shower. i've tinkered with the idea of giving him some deodorant
There are sure alot of people that care about ME out there. It wasn't no votes that made ME leave,I chose to leave on MY own.It is MY favorite beach on earth so I will be back.I kill people everyday with my thoughts, but ME,MYSELF,and I are taking angry thoughts management class on another plane of existance. We don't allow people that are to clean or wear deodorant.I am hoping to see if anyone has picturs of me our just the campsite,I would greatly appreciate them thanks and don't believe in tradition or holidays.
