Around 8:30 PM tonight, three male black youths, 16 to 20 years of age, clobbered a male in the head with a hammer at Greenleaf and Sheridan Road. The three youths then headed south in the alley. Victim is taking himself to the hospital because he can't afford the ambulance.
8:37 PM: Big fight at the Howard el stop, 1649 West Howard.
8:41 PM: Anonymous neighbor calls in 2 shots fired at Birchwood and Seeley.
8:47 PM: Disturbance calls galore. 1600 West Farwell. 1926 West Pratt. 6900 North Clark. 6450 North Ridge.

9:21 PM: Gang dispersal. Dispersing 10 at 2059 West Howard. Event number; 21030.
9:30 PM: A couple of perps are on the hood of a squad car and being searched at this time. 1329 West Morse.
9:54 PM: Lot's of 911 calls for a large fight in progress. 40 kids are fighting with bats and stick and stuff at Greenleaf and Ashland.
10:03 PM: Narcotics dispersal at 1300 West Morse. Dispersing two for narcotics. Council time; 22:03. Event number; 22118.
10:06 PM: Anonymous 911 call. Kids are fighting again at Greenleaf and Ashland.
11:11 PM: Too much noise. 911 called on Heartland Cafe at Lunt and Glenwood for having the out-door cafe open after 11 PM.
Friday Morning, 5:33 AM: The 'crime is down' report continues. Early morning gang dispersal. Dispersing 5 gang members at 1600 West Howard. Event number; 03850.

Any idea what happened this afternoon about 2:00 P.M. in the 1500 block of Jonquil Terrace? Fire Dept., ambulance, multiple police cars and officers, yellow crime scene tape. But as soon as they appeared they were gone.
I'm still piecing that one together. Turned on scanner as it was going on. Wild scene needing crowd control.
But yeah, Jonquil and Bosworth was one hot corner today.
Sources say Sandy's at Howard and Bosworth got raided too.
- At 9:00 a.m. today, about 36 Cook County Sheriff's deputies and several Chicago police officers used a handheld battering ram to roust squatters from the troubled apartment building at 1135 W. Lunt Avenue in Rogers Park.

Did anyone hear on the scanner anything about people having sex in the alley at Clark and Pratt?
1600 W Howard continues to get worse. There are gang bangers, prostitutes and drug dealers in that area all day, not just in the morning. Drug dealers hang out on the sidewalk in front of Pete's Grill and in the el station. When the police drive by, they step back into the restaurant or el station, and neither place runs them out. Drug deals can be witnessed as cars drive up and the dealer goes to the car window. One dealer rides his bicycle to 'work' every day. He can also be seen chatting it up with people on the street all day long. He uses the alley beside the Carribean American bakery as an area for his sales. Some dealers and gang bangers can also be seen entering 1625 W Howard with customers for deals. Most of this can be witnessed before 7:00 a.m.
Isn't there a Chicago Police Pod camera in place at 1600 West Howard?
Yes, there is a camera at 1600 W Howard. But if you attend a CAPS meeting you will find out the cameras are not monitored on a regular basis, the camera has to be pointed at just the right angle to capture the crime, they only keep about 8 hours on tape at a time, blah blah blah. There is also a camera on the other side of Gale Park at Ashland and Jonquil Terrace, but that doesn't stop the dice games, gambling, alcohol consumption, drug use and crowds of people from gathering on a daily basis. The cameras are a joke.
Got an email from Joe Moore about some green roof bullshit. But still haven't gotten my annual crime is down report.
