Simply put; Joe Moore knows he made a bone-headed mistake by listening to a couple of unaccredited and recently exposed fraudulent crack-pots. A couple of loony-bin types who helped him steal the election in 2007. He felt he owed them a favor and wanted to use their name to promote a community center land grab, sort-of-speak.
Now, get this. Joe Moore is word-grabbing (plagiarizing) from the Boys and Girls Club to plead his dirty, back room deal at the last minute.
Joe Moore has turned into a word thief. Don't take my word for it. Read the words I claim Joe Moore stole to try to win your heart and your influence. You decide.
Exactly worded words from the Joe Moore's email blast.
"Too many children and teens in our neighborhood are not receiving the guidance they need to graduate from high school, avoid the effects of violence, gangs and drugs and become responsible adults. The statistics on high school dropout rates, obesity and violence among our youth are staggering."Now, here's the exact text from the Boys and Girls Club website.
"Too many children and teens are not receiving the guidance they need to graduate from high school, to avoid the effects of violence, gangs and drugs or to become responsible adults. The statistics on high school dropout rates, obesity and violence among youth are staggering." Source.Joe Moore is now in the plagiarism business. Stealing words from the Boys and Girls Club. How low will Joe Moore go? In professional circles like Joe Moore's - this is like committing capitol murder. Or being a Republican.
I could go on and on about the rest of the slimey tactics Joe Moore uses in his recent email - and how the propaganda machine is full of bull crap. How dare they try to pit the community against the Boys and Girls Club. That's not what this is about. How shameless of them. It's always gotta be down and dirty politics with Joe Moore and Company. It's just plain rotten.
Rotten as last years election where Joe Moore spent upwards a million bucks to garner a razor thin victory to a virtual unknown.
But seriously, this issue is about the lack of community participation. That's it. Not politics. But Joe Moore doesn't play with the community. He only plays when you pay.
Blognotes: I'll give the floor to Christine Wellman. While she didn't speak loud enough at the meeting this week, her message on her blog came through loud and clear. Her words she wrote last night far exceeded anything I could come up with. She hit the nail on the head and drove this message home. I will readily admit that. Read Khreis here.

I'm at a complete loss here. I just listened to the IN THE HEARTLAND broadcast with Eva, the rep from SEIU and, late as usual, Alderman Joe Moore. The SEIU rep roundly supported the Park Advisory Council and brought up the fact that the $100K offer to B&G from the Park Disctrict to take over the center is a breach of the open bid process. Eva, as always was articulate and concise. Joe made damning accusations, bullied Eva, tried to put words in her mouth regarding the Steans Foundation and then just out and out lied. OK. Nothing new there, really. Except maybe for the SEIU rep coming out so strongly in support of the Park Advisory Council. But no one, I mean NO ONE made Joe explain how giving Gale Park land to a private entity is different than giving Grant Park to the Children's Museum. I really wanted to hear him defend that. Am I missing something here? I mean, it is the same, isn't it? Please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

IT'S ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!!!!
