I walked over to Morse Market during the middle of the day on a Thursday (my vacation day) and there was a group of 20+ by the broasted chicken location. I thought - what are all these people here doing the middle of a work day? Oh right, they don't work. They just stand around and bother other people. I don't understand why the police don't break up these groups!

I just read an article in the paper about the shoot out last week in Uptown. The police are quoted as saying since there were no injuries and no property damage, the shooters will not be charged or ticketed. If they had been ticketed, it would only be a MISDEMEANOR charge and a $45 fine! Give me a break. What is the deterrent here from owning and shooting a gun recklessly? $45 to these gun toting, drug dealing, gangbanger thugs is nothing. Why aren't the alderman and the mayor of this city working to change that?

razldazlrr, the police don't move them because to do so violates their civil rights. They have the right to gather in groups of 20 to 200 and stand around and bother everyone around them and cause general mayhem. If you ask them to move or call 911 on them, you are just a gentrifying racist that wants all poor people moved out of the neighborhood. As an employed, tax paying citizen of the area, you have no civil rights. You are supposed to scurry home from your job and stay locked in your home frightened for your safety. Why should you be allowed to enjoy your neighborhood??
