* Chokehold on Touhy

While walking home on the 1500 block of West Touhy around 1 a.m. July 26, a 40-year-old man was robbed by two teens after they grabbed the victim in a chokehold and pushed him to the ground. The victim said one of the youths took the victim's cell phone from his pocket, while the second acted as a lookout. A witness told police that the teens ran to a group home on the 1700 block of West Touhy. The victim suffered minor scrapes to the back of his head. Police spoke to a counselor who said both youths, ages 15 and 17, entered the home around the time of robbery. Police conducted a show-up but the victim was unable to identify the youths as those who robbed him. Another resident brought the victim's cell phone to police, but refused to give any further information. The victim identified the cell phone as his. Source.

Is anyone else sick of this stuff happening? I live at Sheridan and Greenleaf. My family and I have had several encounters with the boys at Lawrence Hall. My sister and I have both been sexually harrassed by the boys sitting on the steps. The same thugs have thrown rocks at my dog as I walk him by. My husband has came out to see the boys sitting on the hood of his car. I've called 911 on them dozens of times and talked to the police at CAPS meetings, who claim that they will speak with the supervisor. However, nothing is ever done.

I'm sick of this happening. You're sick of this happening. But not many others.

Until Joe Moore and the powers-that-be gets sick of this happening, it will continue.
