* Mugger on Farwell

An 18-year-old man was approached from behind and put in a chokehold around 3:40 a.m. July 24 on the 1400 block of West Farwell. The victim said he was wrestled down to the ground where a man of unknown age grabbed $93 from the victim's pocket before fleeing eastbound on Farwell. Police noticed a man fitting the victim's description of the mugger near the corner of Morse and Wayne. The man was arrested. Police had previous knowledge that the man was named in another robbery fitting the same pattern. According to the police report, the man was being detained pending further investigation but did not note if charges were made. Source.
