The CTA apologizes for any disruption this may cause to the normal routine of regular, long-suffering CTA riders.
The CTA hopes to resume its normal schedule of threatening annual, drastic service reductions each Fall as soon as late 2009, once a decision is reached on the site of the 2016 Olympics.
Thank you for patience.

Right
We have a transit system falling apart, but boy oh boy does the median of Lake Shore Drive look nice. I'm always happy to see the city putting its endless supply of funds to its best use. I've noticed that they close down a lane everyday to landscape along North Lake Shore Drive. Sprucing up the lake shore for the Olympic bid or just another juicey contract to a friend of a politician? I was ecstatic to see they closed a lane yesterday so they could water the plants--cause we haven't had much rain over the last week.
we have a transit system falling apart? really? cuz i see a system making major investments in it's infrastructure, rebuilding and improving stations, replacing old track, beautifying stations.
yes, the operating budget is stretched. in part, right now, because gas prices are pushing many new people onto public transportation. which would be good, if tickets=profits. but it doesn't.
perfect, no. falling apart? in shambles? all that? no.
Ever notice all the people in orange and green vests standing around the El stops doing nothing?
Pay people well for working, but why hire so many to be idle?
I knew been there would say some stupid shit like that. And a 90 year old woman using "cuz" is lame.
I don't like satire posts on this blog. It's misleading. Take the funny stuff someplace else.
don't worry - we now return to our regularly scheduled programming of blood, guts, handguns, and big red stains on sidewalks
