* Kids Fighting on Tuesday

3:40 PM: 911 calls are going out for a street fight on the corner of Lunt and Ashland between a large group of kids. When the police arrived, the kids fighting disperse in multiple directions. This is third incident 911 has been called for since school let out. At Pratt and Ashland a large group of 100 were acting up - and at the Morse EL they were congregating.

In my day, kids would get out of school, go to "Pop's Soda Works," order a chocolate malted, and put our leftover change in the jukebox. My times have changed!

They still do that. Only it's Pop's Crack Works, a 40 oz of malt liquor then juke dancing for change.

I know it's off topic, but there is a great story in today's Sun-Times about the Bryn Mawr overpass mural done with the help of a large number of kids.

Arent's we now supposed to hear from "been there" that the mural is a travesty because it wasn't created by artistic geniuses like herself?

It really is a very positive article about a very positive project!
