2:20 PM: In what sounds like an army of police checking in on the radio, there should be no problem with the Sullivan Fight School dismissal today. Police are manning the area from the moment the wanna-be brawlers leave the doors. Cars posted at all the busy corners (Pratt/Farwell/Ashland/Bosworth/Morse/Lunt/Greenleaf) with their lights blue flashing. Let's see how this plays out.
2:31 PM: Battery in progress at Devon and Glenwood. Female doesn't want to pay her cab fare. A fight breaks out between the male driver and female passenger.
2:45 PM: It's show time. The school doors are opening. The kids are leaving. The police are ready.
2:52 PM: The little angels are following orders. The majority of the crew is at Pratt and Ashland heading north.

The website states ~900 students.
Rather on the small side for Chicago High Schools.
~ 400 of those will ever graduate with ~ 50 ever attending or completing an advanced education program of any kind.
This list the school councils meeting dates and times.

"they're being little angels ... for now."
" ... an army of police ... "
maybe we should schedule a public safety meeting every week
Thanks for the links progun, great info!
The concerns at last nights C.A.P.S. meeting were predominately about the Sullivan problem. That, along with next weeks safety meeting may have shook up the force.
BTW, the one I'm calling Drew Peterson claimed there are 2000 students at Sullivan.
I'm surprised there wasn't no fights after school, considering all the fights that were happening during school today.
Omar Martinez sounds like a great kid! I think he will be a great doctor when he graduates medical school, if he keeps up the positive attitude!
Good Luck Omar Martinez!!!

It would be helpful to have a representatives from Sullivan at CAPS.
All CAPS in the 2424,2431,...
Someone from school administration and from student government.
Omar Martinez
Omar Martinez sounds like a magnificent kid, and his parents are, too. An exceptional bunch of people in every way.
We have a lot of people like these buried in our "bad" neighborhoods. Let's make the neighborhood, and the world, safe for them.
Just out of curiosity, was Sullivan's Principal outside at dismissal.
The presence of significant staff outside during dismissal makes a difference.
