These are the type of people who vote for Joe Moore every 4 years. Heck, this is the type of chick Joe Moore would date if he wasn't married. She may be related. Check the credits at the end.
OK - that was just weird - the girl was surprisingly well spoken but said idiotic stuff and had awful hairy armpits. The stuff at the end was going to fast - what was I supposed to see?
1) I'm pretty sure she was being sarcastic about wanting the Olympics here.
2) I smell "budding actress" who was using this tape as a rehersal and will be participating as a monologist in the next "Filet of Solo" festival at Live Bait Theater.
3) The Chicago 2016 committee is asking for ordinary citizens to send in videotapes of themselves touting the city and telling why we should host the Olympics. I'm guessing this is her "alternative" entry into that contest, you know, to "mess up the system".
4) She may very well be a Moore supporter but if a Green Party candiate runs for alderman against him, she's voting for that person. Definitely.
budding actress? This girl isn't budding into anything with this clip. What a terrible attempt at comedy--just awful. Everyone that viewed that video is now dumber.
wait...i thought people on this blog rail against daley and moore and all the other clowns running the city who line their pockets with cash given to them by real estate developers.
so why would you rip this chick? she agrees!
sure, you could tell her to tweeze those eyebrows, or shave her armpits, or you might want to rip that thing out of the side of her head or tell her to get some acting lessons. all of that is valid.
but essentially she's saying that the olympics is a big money suck, and the only people that will gain from it will be the wealthy insiders and developers.
isn't "TBHORP" all about exposing shameless moneygrabs and incompetent boobs?
the greenview av judge scores it an 8 for message and a 2 for presentation
The Olympics will incur net costs way over those projected by the city. We have been lied to about everything concerning the games and their costs. The city projects $2 Billion, which we can ill afford as it is.
However, the more likely price tag is $20 Billion or more. The minister in charge of the London 2012 games has publicly stated that she wishes London had never bid the games, for the costs have become insupportable in the current recessionary climate: to date the cost of the London games has mounted to 9 billion pounds, or $20 Billion. And they're not finished spending.
The Bejing games cost over $40 Billion, for something that not only will not benefit their economy long term, but caused massive hardship and disruption to the local population, in that massive quantities of water were diverted from parched outlying provinces, causing crop failures and food shortages, in this country where most people are still very poor.
Atlanta did not benefit economically at all, but instead saw revenues drop at outlying hotels and businesses, and many local businesses displaced by "entry" businesses that came to town just to capitalize on the Olympics and then left- no net gain for Atlanta, but they did have a terrorist bombing, you will remember.
The financial cost alone should make us back away from this nonsense, but when you add the disruption to local residents, thousands of whom will be displaced, and the pretty large security risk, the Olympics project cannot be justified at all.
Here's hoping that the recent political scandal makes the bid committee hesitate to select this city. Prince Albert of Monaco said that the committee was more concerned with infrastructure (or lack thereof), but that the scandal "doesn't help".
If there is anything Chicago does NOT need, it's another Vanity project. As broke as the city is now, we need to get sensible.
Did you see the city council and our wonderful alderman approved the purchase of property for the Olympics yesterday? I can't remember the numbers - $86Million maybe - yet the city can't afford to salt and plow our streets! Where is our big Alderman? I thought he was supposed to stand up against the others for "the people"

Reminds me of the girls at the Heartland Cafe.

Every once and a while, even I have to dumb it down for my readers. It's the least I can do during this holiday season.
Yeah, well, I didn't say "budding GOOD actress"...

She's dead on about how the Canadians transport their homeless.
From Edmonton to Vancouver, then Vancouver to ... ???
Regardless, I may chide her for those pits, but she's spot on with her criticism of the Olympics.
Thank you, Lansky.

I'd hit it...
Uhm, what to the Bears have to do with the Olympics? O-Mi-God.
