Robber Uses Blue-steel Handgun

A 22-year-old man was allegedly robbed as he was entering his building on the 7300 block of N. Damen around 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11. The victim told police that four men in their late teens approached him and asked what he had in his messenger bag. When the victim refused to tell them, one of the teens allegedly pulled out a blue-steel handgun from his waistband and ordered the victim to hand over his bag. The culprits snatched the bag and took off, the victim said.

Police caught one of the teens a few minutes later, and he gave police the names of his co-offenders. Police picked up a 17-year-old who corroborated the victim's story. Police charged the first man, Nicholas T. Jones, 18, of the 1300 block of W. Irving Park Road, with armed robbery. Other suspects in the case are juveniles, and as such, will not be identified News-Star. No court information was available. Source.
