Joe Moore's Tombstone

Time-out really came up with a good one with this feature. Check out the political tombstones. Look who's in good company. They even made one for our very own corrupt politician, Joe Moore.

I remember when this site was more like uptown update
more photos, more news,
less rhetoric, this has become an antimoore blog solely,

while i understand the sentiment, its bizarre that there is so much energy put into this subject alone that it seems that almost nothing else takes place in rogers park

That's a good one - Burris also has some plot there to memorialize himself - kinda creepy!!

If you want Uptown Update, why not click off and go there.

Broken Heart is providing a great service--sometimes humorous, sometimes not--and if you have no sense of humor, just go elsewhere.

Apparently, "jeffo", you have not read many of the previous posts. Rogers Park has not exactly been the "Garden of Eden" of late, but there are those of us who keep trying to make it a better place to LIVE and WORK!

Thank you, Craig, for all you do!

Conveniently, for burial purposes there is already a hole in ground where once the Adelphi Theater stood.

I wish Joe Moore a long and healthy life, just that he step aside if he truly cares about the well being of our neighborhood.

I think Jim Thompson's tombstone should be a closet door.

Eddie Dugan and my dad use to be partners in business back in the 70's. I was just looking at Eddie's Last WILL and testament today for some archival reasons. Some crazy stuff in this document.

Craig, Eddies bar was frequented by many closted downtown business & politician types!

I meet Eddie and got to know him fairly well, he was a great guy, as a straight male I learned alot about learing to live together regardless of our differences in lifestyle.

Jeffo, there's a definite bias here, just as there is at Uptown Update (and if you can't see that you need to look a little bit closer). These are personal blogs created by individuals, not by the Rogers Park or Uptown Chambers of Commerce. I know what I'm getting into when I visit those sites and while I don't agree with everything on either site, I know it's the perogative of the person creating the site. If I disagree I can either stop reading them or post my viewpoint on their comments page... just like you just did!

Photo shots too close. They're too far away. Too many words. Not enough. The logo sucks. Can't read with the one column layout. Blah, blah, blah.

Jeff-o is never happy with the 'Broken Heart'.

I was thinking about the Hudson River landing...Is Joey going to try to ban jets because they kill geese?

I want to expand on why I wrote that Big Jim's tombstone will be a closet door because I was surprised by so many agreeing with me.
I don't care if anyone is gay, as long as they don't try to convert me, I'm fine with it.
If you're goofy enough to make a pass at a straight, fat guy, who turns you down & accept that your gaydar sucks, fine.
Now on to my problems with Thompson.
1. How the hell did he get a ultra top secret security clearance 30 or so years ago to be on a federal intelligent oversight committee?
It's closeted gays that are a risk for being blackmailed, not openly out ones.
2. I'm betting that this has something to do with Thompson spending $20-$30 million of Sidley's money to defend Ryan.
My guess is that Ryan somehow saved Thompson's political career by helping him cover up some really embarrassing event involving his personal life & this was the payback.
3. Thompson may not have invented "Pinstripe patronage" where big contributions get you big, no bid contracts with the state, or the bids are set up so only you or your company qualifies, but he perfected it.
Just look at all the state offices in leased buildings that are converted factories & garages owned by the connected. The buildings are one step above slums & rarely function well because squeezing offices into a factory rarely works well.
Or, even worse:
Remember when the Unemployment Dept. leased the entire former Standard Oil HQ building at 910 S. Michigan for more money than the state could have bought the otherwise unwanted building. And then they couldn't use the top floor because "it was too luxurious for state employees"!
