Hey, Craig, just thought I would cover some crime for you up in 24 for the 3:00pm hour. Here is what I heard and wrote:
3:05pm - Beat car #2452 has a traffic stop at 7644 North Paulina. A plate was already ran.
3:09pm - #2452 draws an RD number from the traffic stop. It's HR138090. The event number is 10446.
3:14pm - Suspicious person(s). 6705 North Clark. Two to three males loitering. One is wearing all black. Shouldn't the call be a disturbance then?
3:19pm - #2402 gives a flash for a missing who has been missing since January 24, 2009 from 6361 North Paulina. Missing is a Female 4, 5'7, 240 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes. Last seen wearing pink sweater and a jacket.
3:20pm - Check the well being. Touhy and Clark. At the Fulton Chicken restrauant. Female walked into the restrauant to find nobody there, but it's open for business. When she yelled for someone, nobody answered.
3:26pm - #2422 is with #2424 at the well being check. The caller was right. #2401 was contacted to call the owner of the restrauant.
3:27pm - #2401 is mobiling with #2424 regarding the job.
3:31pm - The owner is on the way.
3:38pm - Disturbance. Morse Red Line station. Several males loitering at the station.
3:38pm - Loud music disturbance. 1436 West Farwell. Apartment 2C.
3:54pm - Burglary. 6836 North Lakewood. Male Black, black hat, black coat, black gloves with dark khaki pants just tried to break into the apartment. He fled out via the back door.
3:56pm - The Farwell disturbance is a 4Paul.
3:58pm - #2431 is asking for a call back on the Lakewood burglary.
3:59pm - No answer on the call back, but #2431 says the got in.
4:00pm - Wanted from the Burglary is a male Black, 6 foot tall, 30 years old, 200 pounds with black mitt cap on, black jacket and black or dark khaki pants. It appears that an RD may be drawn from this fisaco.
4:02pm - Ride with the ambluance. Granville Red Line station. Between the L stop and Wintrhop, an elderly female laying down on the sidewalk.

Hey Craig - you may want to make people aware - the break in was on Lakewood but a different address - in my building. It was the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday afternoon when everyone in the building was at home (6 unit condo building). My friend woke up on his sofa to find a large black man standing in his hallway!! We have a gate, but perhaps it wasn't shut all the way. He must have climbed up the back deck and come in through a patio door. The police sent two squad cars very quickly after it happened. Everyone need to make sure their doors are completely locked!! Please call the police if you have any ideas on who the burglar may have been - I'm sure it's not his first time!
Razldazlrr - Are you talking about the address I have down for the burglary on Lakewood in the report?
The street address is just a number or two off - it has to be the same one. They sent two squad cars and later a fingerprint guy but he was wearing gloves - not a lot they could do. My friend was very startled and the burglar was very composed and said he was there "to do work". He didn't appear to be a crazed druggie.
Come to think of it, you're right. It was 6834 North Lakeshore, not 6836. I apologize :-).
You really shouldn't encourage him - he's liable to wind up like you, 40's unmarried, vicariously living his life through his nephew trying to recapture his glory days.
It's too late. I've already been "encouraged" (to listen to a scanner and copy down crime)
You might be right that I won't be married at age 40, but I will not be living with my family. I will probably be in a group home (for the rest of my life) due to my disablity, but I will try to live my own life.
Avondale - don't listen to RogerP - I'm not sure what he/she is talking about. Keep on listening and keep the rest of us informed!
I don't think s/he knows what s/he's talking about either, so on that note, I'm going to continue to listen and help Craig keep you guys informed :-).
