Off-Leash Dog Irritates Neighbor
10:33 AM: 911 cell phone caller is pissed off. Person in the park is letting a Siberian Husky dog play off-leash in the snow at Loyola Park, 1100 West Morse Avenue. Caller doesn't like this and wants police to write the dog owner a municipal ordinance ticket. Dispatch sends back-up for the first responding officer on this 911 call, as the neighbor and dog owner are arguing in the background over a dog playing in the snow off-leash.

I love dogs but I'm afraid this one person with his dog will ruin it for everyone that loves to let their dogs run at the lake/park. He has been ticketed multiple times by the police, he has been threatened to have his dog taken by animal control, etc. He doesn't care. I love to let my dog off the leash sometimes but he stays right with me and I can always bring him back quick. The dog under discussion is sweet but his owner just jogs and lets him run free. You often see the dog but the owner is no where in sight - That's not FAIR to the rest of us with dogs - will the police come down on all of us with dogs because he refuses to follow the rules?? Some people are frightened of dogs and that big dog running up to them scares them. The police are furious with him - encourage him to either leash his dog or keep him by his side so everyone doesn't have to pay!
That guy in the pic didn't clean it up??? As a dog owner, I encourage you to take a pic of everyone like that and post it. I always pick mine up and it's disgusting that other people don't do the same!!
Then the Police in conjunction with Animal Care and Control should just take the dog and impound it. Then give the owner a wood shampoo for being stupid. Just kidding of course. About the wood shampoo. But it's another example of an animal suffering because of a human being. Happens all the time. If you could see some of the animal abuse that we see, your stomaches would turn.Siberians need to run. So do I. And there are venues for that. This dog owner needs to realize that not all people love dogs. Some people are terrified of dogs. That's why dogs need to be restrained. That and preventing them from being run over by a car.
