2:38 PM: Police have issued an alert to patrol Sullivan fight School extra hard, as they've been given word of a major brawl is in the works. From what I gather, it's "Shirts versus Skins." One officer has seen the players already taking their shirts off. Police orders are to throw them in the wagon at the first sign of fist-a-cuffs. Officers are to be prepared at exactly 2:42 PM. Two fighters are already known by name to keep an eye on.
2:44 PM: The cat-and-mouse game begins. Police are warned to go in the alley. The brawlers are looking to take the fight in the alley instead of the open streets as usual. Throwing the police off. A strategic move indeed.
2:53 PM: The skins lose a player. Police have rounded up one shirtless kid.
2:58 PM: How romantic. This whole brawl this afternoon is over a female. Police are told to keep an eye on Sullivan, because "lover girl" is attending night class this evening.

First warm day of the year. 50 to 60 people on the corners at Jonquil Terrace and Ashland. Open liquor, car stereo blaring, joints being passed around. Police pull up and the crowd scatters off to hang out on Bosworth. It's nice to know that nothing changes North of Howard.
This sounds intense. I think this may be related to two boys and a girl passing notes to each other in my English class, but I'm not too sure. Any idea on how many people were involved in this fight? Maybe I could get some more on this tomorrow.
The names of the two were Odem (sp) and Graham (sp)
I probably don't know them (never heard of their names but you never know), so it's probably not related to what I saw this morning.
hey craig,
hypothetical situation here: if one of the kids from sullivan fight school darts out into the street when school lets out, and i just happen to be driving my car, and i hit them, can i just run them over and claim "natural selection" as my defense?
Well, at least they were using their fists instead of a gun. I guess that counts as an improvement.
Yeah, Man On The Street. I'd rather see fists (even though I don't like big brawls too much) than guns.
