Felony Charges Filed in Ambulance Theft

From Alderman Rainey's website. The charges against the driver in the Dempster/Chicago stolen ambulance crash. The following charges against Alberto Bustamante in this matter.

Possession of a Stolen Medical Transport Vehicle: (720 ILCS 5/4-103.2(a)(5)) 1 Felony class 1 count.

Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer: (720 ILCS 5/ 12-4(b)(6)) 1 Felony class 2 count.

Aggravated DUI: (625 ILCS 5/11-511(d)(1)(g)) 1 Felony class 4 count.

Resisting a Peace Officer: (720 ILCS 5/31-1(a)) 1 class A Misdemeanor count.

Reckless Driving: (625 ILCS 5/11-503) 1 Class A Misdemeanor count.

No Valid Drivers License: (625 ILCS 5/6-101) 1 Class B Misdemeanor count.

Failure To Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident: (625 ILCS 11-601(a)) 1 petty Offense count.

Disobeyed Traffic Control Device: (625 ILCS 5/ 11-305(a)) 1 Petty Offense count.

The court date that was set for Alberto Bustamante was April 6, 2009, 0900 hrs., in room 106, key A-1.

People pay to watch movies featuring similar car chase mash-ups, but when they happen in real life, the same people get all high-minded and horrified. Ditto for guns.

Driving without a license - now there's a shocker! He goes to jail and the tax payers get stuck with the bill.
