The Little Things in Life

It really doesn't take much to make me happy. Simple things in life will do just fine. And it doesn't have to be fancy.Take this secured garbage can on the Lunt side of the Morse Avenue CTA station, for example. For something that looks so insignificant, it serves a valuable purpose. For some unknown reason, this garbage can mysteriously disappeared for a short while this winter - but now it's back. I'm very happy it's located here. Thanks, Greg Wagner. Thank you very much.

Now if SOMEBODY will just put back the two trash cans that were removed from the NE and SW corners of Pratt & Sheridan, I will be very happy.

Oh, YEAH,will Lohan Development, the owners of the failed condo development at 1200 W Pratt PLEEEEASE get a third garbage dumpster. Their dumpsters are ALWAYS spilling over and have bags of trash stacked around them. Don't these people know you need more than 2 dumpsters for a bldg. with 81 units. My bldg has only 42 and we have 3 dumpsters.

Looks like I will have to start a 311 harangue again.

Laura, call Greg. He's our new streets and sanitation supervisor for the 49th ward. 773-592-8201.

Both those those corners are important to have secure cans.

While you're at it, ask Greg if he could put the one that got removed on the south west corner of Lunt and Sheridan too.

Tell him Mr. Brokenheart sent you. LOL.

Maybe we can get the trash cans that were removed from the Howard-Greenview-Rogers intersection back also.......

Laura, I live in a Lohan Building too (on Greenleaf and Paulina) and it's been a nightmare for me as well...I can empathize!

I despise those Lohan people, Machine, and I don't give a damn if Lilianna Lohan reads it here.

Thanks for the phone no, Craig, I will be calling it. If the 1200 Pratt dumpsters are still spilling over when I come home tomorrow evening, I will start raising hell.

They do the most tasteless rehabs of any developer out there. Correct me if I'm wrong, anybody, but did they or did they not get Loyola TIF money to do 1200 W Pratt? I believe they did, though I could be wrong, for their building is included in the TIF district, while mine is not, thank the Gods.

They are renting out 1200 W Pratt now, having finally twigged that nobody is gonna pay $180K for a 2 bed apt (LOL)that would fit snugly into my living and dining room. They still haven't done any thing to beautify the huge plaza in front of 1200, which could be so beautiful. But it's their trash situation that galls me- every time I chance to walk past their dumpsters, they're spilling over.

I will start taking photos and posting them.

I asked the alderman's office about putting the trashcans back in along Sheridan. It's hard enough to get people to throw away their garbage when the cans ARE in place. Pigs. Check out the evidence at rogersparkcheetos.blogspot. Hillarious...kind of.

North Coast - that's horrible! I would call 311 and the Alderman's office daily!
I agree that it's insane that we have to continue to fight to get garbage cans!! Good god - don't they want the neighborhood to be at least a little clean (of course, there are some people that could use a lesson in how you use them!)

I have also emailed the alderman's office several times about trash cans on Sheridan - yes, we know idiot people put their full trash cans by them but we still need the trash cans!!

Greg Wagner is a good guy. My friend lives near St. Margaret Mary and she had some new neighbors move in last summer. I think the building they are in went section 8 (right across from the church sign). Get this, they throw their trash out the windows and off the porches. My friend busted them because the idiot/pigs threw out their kids' school papers. It didn't take a detective to match the name on the school work to their doorbell. So then the pigs start calling me a whore (en Espanol) when I'm out in my friend's yard. They didn't know that I know Spanish. Well things escalated and the trash got worse. When this was brought to Greg Wagner’s attention, he handled it perfectly. I believe the building's owner may have been contacted.

Is that solar/automatic trash can still there and if so, is it still broken?
