Morse Theatre Says "Watch This Space"

Gay disco? Flee Market? No one knows for sure. I guess we'll all have to wait. So, as the sign says, keep watching this space.

something is bound to work there.
that should be a gastropub in front

Let's hope its a gay something. I don't know if that comment was in jest but any kind of gay-friendly establishment is certain to boost the neighborhood. Look at the Glenwood! Classiest place in the neighborhood by far.

craig, your site is creating a haven for hate-mongering. If it isn't the "street-element," it's the gays. I know you censor your comments, you coward; but you need to get off of your racist high-horse and start thinking of creative, positive ways to fix rogers park, instead of wallowing in filth like you seem to love.

Shut up, Anne.

The interior looks like it was designed to work as a disco - just lose the tables:

hmmm interesting - I wonder - no one has heard anything? With that sound system in back, I sure hope it's something to do with music. I always thought that if they wanted a higher end crowd, they needed valet parking and a lot. I think they have the lot. None of my friends are going to park their car blocks away and walk in winter.

We saw Cindy Blackman at the Morse Theater, and unfortunately it was the only show we caught there. It was really great, and the sound system is top-notch.

Getting that place back up and running at any level would be an improvement to the 'hood.

I read on another blog that the Morse is now run by "86th Ohio LLC".
According to the IL Sec.of State website (File #02030055), the company is owned by James Pritzker and on 16 Oct 2009, a DBA was filed for "Mayne Stage" and "Act One Cafe".
Not sure if it's related to the theater, but it might be a good sign that something is happening.

Anne, I do agree that there is a great deal of negativity in the authoring of this blog however you may have gone overboard with "hate mongering" accusation. Then again when you hear Chris's and BillyJoe's arguments, you may not be far off.
Can we get constructive?

Interesting - at least it looks like something with music and food!

Could I wallow in the filth with you?
