The incident confirms that people are like snow: two feet won't even slow a plow.

Craig, I simply cannot believe only ONE comment re: this unfortunate death.

And no more details, at all, in the press.

But, then, the Trib and /sun-Times are such local, rubistic entities.

What is there to say? I'm trying to figure out how it could have happened, if the driver were halfway attentive.

It is a really, really tragic accident, the kind that leaves you rather speechless, and I hope there was some kind of excuse for it, but I can't imagine what it would be.

How fast was the vehicle moving? Was this guy watching what he was doing?

My condolences to the woman's survivors.

Have any of you observed how the aged heavy Russians trudge back and forth from Morningside Court to Morse Market? They are bundled up in their parkas and hats, looking neither left nor right. I'm sorry that the woman was killed, but I'd bet she was paying no attention at all to what was going on around her. Instead of looking for someone to blame or for someone from whom to exact revenge, let's just call it what it probably was. An accident.
BTW, I tried to post and comment earlier but it seems to have been deleted.

Horrible - I didn't see this post until today. I will tell you that I saw the plows blasting through the stop sign at Pratt/Lakewood without even slowing down!
Even if she was walking slowly or not paying attention - a snow plow should have been paying attention!!!
Did anyone see this in the paper?
sr - that's a ridiculous comment - I'm glad it wasn't your grandmother!

Whomever was at fault it is sad.
If there is a family I hope that they will recover from this tragedy.

I don't know where you want to post this - saw a lot of police last night around 6:30 - 7:00 pm and a policeman told me that a guy was attacked by 3 young punk black guys at the corner of Farwell and Sheridan. They hit him, took his money and his laptop and then took off running. (Don't we wish we had a group of vigilantes to get these jerks off the streets?)

THIS MESSAGE IS TO THE WRITER OF THE BLOG:

I was really impressed with how the blog was run when I first started reading back in June of '09. This was the first site that I would check every morning, as a resident of Rogers Park. Just wanted to say I hope it goes back to being regularly updated sometime. I miss being able to have a feel for what is going on around me without having to use a police scanner. Still a good blog, but the twice or sometimes three daily updates were the best. Just wanted to let you know. -chris
