Moore Seriously Mulling a Run for Mayor

“This kind of opportunity comes once in a generation in Chicago, so I think anybody in public office would take a serious look at it,” said Ald. Joe Moore (49th). “I’m doing that right now. ...It’s a great opportunity to move the city to be more transparent and operate in a more democratic way.”

Moore has clashed with Daley on more occasions than most aldermen and would be a tempting candidate for the city’s labor unions, which can deliver vital organizational support in an election. Like Tunney, he’s been a strong supporter of LGBT rights. Read more at Now in Gay Chicago.

He can't even standup to "The Outlaw Gardners". How is he going to take the heat from millions of citizens with bigger issues.

Hell has frozen over!!

he can mull it over
but i dont think
he would be a serious contender

Someone just told me Joe's folks were collecting signatures for Mayor this past weekend.

I've gotten word Carol Moseley Braun is ready for the run. She's been seriously courting the GLBT insiders this week.

JoMo runs a ward with high crime and high unemployment. Not only that but three words rule him out as a contender for Mayor:

Foie Gras Ban.

CHICAGO - A north side teenager was beaten and robbed Monday night on his way home from school. The Whitney Young Magnet High School junior was choked into unconsciousness.

Family members say Thomas Insley will make a full recovery, but hope police will step up patrols around the Rogers Park neighborhood. The 16 year-old chose the route he took home from the train stop mainly because it passed a police camera.

The mugging took place at Jonquil Terrace and Ashland.

How many contenders for Mayor do we have now? I can't keep track.

I'd give Joe about as much a chance as Carol Mosely Braun. It won't happen.

Geofredo,
Craig doesn't care about muggings or crime. He only cares about making fun of Joe Moore and complaining about the high prices of coffee and gardens and other nice things in the neighborhood.

Before seriously considering a run, Joe should do the following:

1) Wash and comb his hair, it looks so greasy.
2) Find a suit that does not look slept in.
3) Do something about his bad breath.
4) Consider losing some weight.
5) Grow a brain.

I haven't seen one candidate come forward that looks like someone I would vote for. No current congress people, Rahm, no Alderman, no current Chicago politicians need apply. I would love to have an in charge, take no shit kind of guy like the new governor of New Jersey!! He is standing up to the unions (not sucking up to them) and putting that state back in fiscal order. We need someone who is not a career politician to come in and shake things up!

Yes, YES YES, we need Gov Christie here in IL!! Can we clone him? Does anybody in Cook County want to be him? Would someone give it a try?

We need someone who will face down the Corporate Welfare recipients, the public service unions, the school board, and the various taxing authorities.

David Hoffman for Mayor!

Razldazzrr: The current Mayor Daley is a total "take no shit kind of guy." If he wasn't, he wouldn't have wielded a virtually noncontested rubber stamp for many initiatives (like TIFs) during his term in office.

Im wondering how would your pick for mayor be a different "take no shit kind of guy"?

Are you really paying attention, or just shooting from the hip using your computer keyboard?

billyjoe - I'm sure I pay more attention than you any day of the week! And let me see, Daley isn't running now, is he?

Mayor Moore doesn't have a nice ring to it.
