Don't deliver north of Howard if you are a pizza driver. You could risk your life, and lose your wallet; not to mention your bosses pizza's.
At 1:12 a.m., a person got robbed at gun-point of the cell phone and wallet at Jonquil and Ashland, according to another 911 caller. Don't believe the sock-puppet posters on Everyblock.
This area is very dangerous at night. And day.
BLOGNOTES: If you're wondering why our police force in the 24th district can't focus on the the important issues like assholes shooting each other with illegal handguns, basic pizza robberies, wild movie style shootings, gang warfare, and whatnot -- you'll have to ask our Police Commander.
Seems our Commander's major focus tonight was to hassle the customers at Hamilton's, with some lame ID check -- on their second to last night in business. Yeah, that's our tax dollars well spent. Well done, Commander.

I used to deliver pizza. Scary stuff, never got robbed, but Im sure if I did it long enough I wouldve.
Hey NOH'ers, if you want pizza delivery service then DONT rob the delivery drivers!!! Ahh. One bad apple spoils the bunch.
Kindof late for a delivery in general, especially NOH. I think if Giordanos goes back for more deliveries there they need a follow car that is either private security or an off duty cop!!!
I deliver for JB Alberto and hate going up there!!!!!!!!
Cops hasseling kids and Frank at Hamilton's last night. It us true. I saw it after a great Geeman dinner with the Broken Heart at Laschet's Inn.
RE: = "Kindof late for a delivery in general,..."
WHAT? THIS IS A MAJOR U.S. CITY! KIND OF LATE FOR A DELIVERY" What a fool. Go back to whatever little hick down you are from PLEASE.
Again you got it wrong. That was Loyola Campus Police. They are the ones that have been messing with Hamiltons, with the help of the Secretary of State Police.
Bad as it is, this kind 'b...sh.t, (call for delivery and rob the guy) is certainly not unique to our neighborhood...in fact, I can't remember this kind of 'delivery' crime happening NOH in the past 10 years. Give us a break, Craig!

Wrong. It was Loyola Campus Police hassling Hamiltons. They are being assisted by the Secretary of State Police. CPD was not there. Loyola has been on a campaign to eliminate all the bars close to the campus for almost 20 years.
If there was CPD there it was to eat, or there was a fight. CPD only hangs around at closing.
@ anon 11:24 am
hmmm, tis true what you say I suppose, but extra precaution must be taken for NOH that late at night.
I think giordanos should have follow cars for NOH.
Oh, and you owe the Commnader an appology.
Go stroke yourself...it was indeed CPD.
did i read it on this blog or somewhere else that hamilton's is closing, and that the property has been purchased by loyola university?
I"m pretty sure a collapsible baton and/or muay thai knee is legal in Chicago, both of mine have tasted blood. Don't be a pussy, with the way the gangbangers shoot you won't die, so fight back, goddamit.

They are doing it in Evanston TOO!
As for pizza delivery - charge the MFs who order, esp. after 11pm. Anybody too lazy to get out of bed, put on their PJs and drive to the pizza joint is just that --LAZY!
@ Lianna you stupid c***
the robbers are the ones calling for pizza...setting the trap then springingit...there is no legit customer.....my god go back to your little hick town.
Gee, I live NOH and ordered a pizza from Giordano's and absolutely nothing bad happened. When I told the young lady I spoke with on the phone that I live in the "scary" north of Howard neighborhood, she laughed and said, "That's not a problem." The driver was very nice and got a decent tip, too.
Lianna, not all of us have cars, which makes the delivery option (which we DO pay for, btw) imperative.
To the anonymous tough guy. You are wrong. Ask Frank or Scotty at Hamiltons.
Get a Charter Arms Undercover/offDuty snubby!
Hey Craig, another pizza driver got robbed last night. Same place on Marshfield.
