Trash can vandal spews garbage at Lunt & Glenwood

Dog poop bags and assorted other garbage litter the sidewalk at Lunt & Glenwood
(Oct. 20, 2012/Rogers Park) A neighborhood trash vandal has struck in the overnight hours on the Southwest corner of Lunt and Glenwood, across the street from the Heartland Cafe. The city of Chicago owned trash can was admittedly overflowing with various nasty garbage at the time of this overnight vandalism. Now this nasty smelling and even more unattractive looking garbage is easily accessible to our local rats and pigeons.

BLOGNOTES: A CTA/police video camera recently installed, is located just to the East and above the trash can - and should've gotten a great look at whoever did this dirty deed. That's if the camera is actually functioning.

Brilliant reporting, Craig. This is the sort of cutting edge stuff you just don't see on Everyblock. Good lord! A knocked over trash can! Oh, the humanity!

I see that The New York Times and 60 Minutes also dropped the ball on this life changing news story!

im pretty sure that this had to do with the shooting on lunt and ashland. as the cops chased the suspects they threw the gun and the cops found it in a garbage can on glenwood

there is an alley behind the 6972 N. Sheridan building that is constantly littered with overflowing trash. Several complaints were made to the 49th ward, including an in-person complaint to 49th ward's Mr. Wagner, and yet this slumlord keeps getting away with not ordering another dumpster or arranging for additional pick-ups. seems slumlords are welcome here in RP.

Joe Moore did it to piss you off and write about it.

So just like every other type of crime to happen in NYC, the cops won't really do much about it unless it involves one of their men being hurt. I doubt the camera was even real, there are known to be a lot of dummy cameras in that area.
