Armed robbery on Hoyne/Group beating on Howard

On November 19, 2012, around 9:15 p.m., two male blacks, one allegedly with a gun, robbed a man of $300.00 and his cell phone in the 7400 block of North Hoyne. After the robbery the offenders fled west towards Ridge. The victim wasn't injured and the offenders weren't caught. This is the same area where two people were shot over the weekend.

An hour later at Howard and Paulina seven males were reportedly beating one male with sticks on the corner, according to multiple 911 calls. When police arrived the combatants scattered in multiple direction. Was this a possible gang initiation? No victim was around to press charges, so we'll never know.
