Stop the "Pritzker Car Tower" on Sheridan

It sure doesn't take long for the resident's of Rogers Park to start an online petition against some project. But unlike some silly petition to stop a Burger King from opening up in a shopping mall, this new petition to stop the Pritzker Car Tower on Sheridan has merit. It's part of the City of Chicago Lakefront Protection ordnance.
As Katy Hogan said in the comment section to the online petition. "Somebody's gotta let the Pritzgers know Rogers Park isn't theirs to re-design, or re-make in the image of Near North..."

Whenever a new condo or apartment building goes up, one of the complaints is about the parking. Well I think a 250 car parking facility will actually be a help to residents here. Is the intention of the owner to rent out parking spaces? I like it. I wish I had a facility like that near me. Did everyone complain when Loyola adding their big parking structure? I hate looking for parking and the winter parking bans make it even more difficult.
The usual crying and whining and moaning from the "greens" is amusing and expected, but only if you are about 12 years old. If you are older, it is just stupid and pathetic.
The only greens that matter are the ones that end up in Joe Moron's wallet.

Thanks Jeff. I don't think there's anything wrong with more goddamned parking. The only guys against it are the ones who just like to complain. And also the ones who don't understand that that portion of Sheridan is actually not on the lakefront. Maybe they never saw a goddamned map before.

It would be smart to read the Lakefront Ordinance before spouting off about "merit". (Or don't you do "smart"?) The ordinance's singular purpose is to protect the lake's water quality, lakefront parks and shoreline from erosion. It has nothing to do with historic structures, architectural design or use of private property. Engage brain before engaging mouth. If not possible, at least try.

Hey Craig how can you be against the man of the year as voted by the visitors to your site?

Blasphemous.

Pritzker (not Pritzger as Katy Hogan and Don Gordon spell it) was the People's choice for man of the year. Not mine.

A parking garage sounds great to me. I don't see how this detracts in any way from the lakefront.

Dear Miss Hogan, You have noone top blame more than yourself and your business partner Michael James. While others around you have been telling you for years that your pandering pal Alderman Joe Moore is the piece of shit that he is, you and Mr James have cowered behind him in hypocritical radical obedience like a couple of puppy dogs because Joe constantly gave you what you wanted. Now that Moore's personal political needs to produce a verneer through the house of cards he is trying to build through small business development in our largely residential community, you are whining like a wounded animal and blaming his financiers, not him. I have lost all respect for you and Mr. James. While you have claimed to be community minded "Socialists" for decades, in fact, during that time you have been self centered "CAPITALISTS", hypocrite lecteur!—mon semblable,—mon frère!”

Is this the same business woman who neglected to pay taxes and went begging to the public for funds to keep her business open?

Holy fucking Jehoshaphat. Somebody has finally figured out that those two are frauds. They are raging capitalists incarnate. They peddled brown rice, twigs and lesbo-Marxism for years pretending to be "The People". Predators and frauds who can't run a fuckin business to support the neighborhood. Blood suckers.

She and her ex-husband had the alderman hit me up for a charitable donation to keep them afloat after they had been ripping us off for years. They sucked us dry with bad food from a dirty kitchen filled with roaches and rat turds.

Holy fucking shitballs. I had no idea I was eating goddamned rats and roaches when I ate at that goddamned place. When that waitress with a nose ring dropped that muffin on the floor and put it back on the plate, and when that busboy blew his nose with a dirty dish towel and continued wiping down tables with it while I was sitting down for the SAME GODDAMNED FUCKING MEAL I thought to myself "this place is the fucking best!"

Heartland gets the gold medal, first prize, Oscar, Golden Globe, medal of honor, Michelin 4-star for the biggest rip off Rogers Park has ever seen. Bullshit about socialism, Che Guevera, migrant workers rights, Black Stone Rangers, womens rights, no nuclear war, Tibetan freedom, ban whaling, anti-establishment horse crap in exchange for over priced shit food served by asshole filthy junkies and skanks. Their veggie food has more cockroach animal protein than a slab of Grade A Prime beef.

Micky Jim is a COMMUNIST. He is not a capitalist. I am not familiar with the Hogan woman, but if she is partnered with Micky Jim, she is probably a communist too.

Hey you funny peoples. If you want to sell pumpkins and peddle Marxist leaflets on Sheridan Road you got a deal. All you need to do is call my attorneys, cough up of some money (lots) and buy my property. You can even have the old Buddhist shack if you want. I'm just a regular nice (rich) guy. I even drink beer like most of you. Peace out assholes. I'm off to Dubai for a long weekend. Ciao.

I just found out that the Shambala "Buddhists" are part of an international franchise operation but don't have a single location in India, Tibet, Nepal, China or Japan. Check out their website. They are big into the meditation business almost like the Pritzkers are with real estate. The Shambala International Finance office is in a Halifax, Nova Scotia strip mall and has been linked to the Boulder, Colorado Buddhist Scam via the Naropa Institute and the "Kingdom of Shambala". It sounds like a snake oil operation to me.
