There were 2 squads in the Bosworth/Jonquil alley tonight. A male and female were being questioned. That was around 7PM

I just drove down Howard Street at 9:50 P.M. There are 8 to 10 kids under 18 years old hanging at the corner of Marshfield and Howard directly in front of the Rogers Park Pizzeria. Gale Park has at least 15 to 20 people in various parts of the park. There are 2 gang bangers staking the turf in front of the new Gale field house. A drug deal was taking place in front of Sandy's at the corner of Howard and Bosworth.

Where's the enforcement of the curfew? Make these parents responsible for the actions of their children. Get these kids off the street.

It really is time to lock these kids up - they are troublemakers with their big mouths and bad attitudes

Agreed. Isn't there an anti-loitering law anymore... or was that ruled "unconstitutional" or something?

That's a very old idea we have used for the past 30 years or so. See how well it has worked.

Are you serious?

Gotta love all of the tolerent people out there. Have you ever heard of the bill of rights? Standing around is not breaking the law. Aren't you the same people complaining about all of the civil liberties that have been taken away from you by President Bush? If you see laws being broken, Call 911, don't blog. Wake Up! Go to your C.A.P.S. Meeting. The system works. Not! bosworth you are a joke.

rp4life, thanks for your opinion.

FYI, I do attend the CAPS meetings, I belong to a block club, I am part of a telephone tree, I attend the Rogers Park Garden Group meetings, I attended meetings regarding the scheduled activities at the Gale Park fieldhouse, and I call 911 regularly. I also pick up trash every day that people like to toss from their cars or while they walk down the street, and more times than I want to count I have scrubbed gang graffiti off the walls of my building and cleaned up broken glass from cars that have been broken into on the street. I am involved in my neighborhood.

I want to see the system working consistently. I want the laws and ordinances of the City of Chicago enforced. I am tired of my neighborhood being run by a gang of thugs and those that don't give a shit. I am tired of the lazy landlords doing nothing but taking the rent money and not giving anything back to the neighborhood.

I am here for the long term, and I want to enjoy it.

bosworth, I didn't tell you to move. I am sorry that you and I do all of those activities. We are barely making a dent. The systems that the public officials have created to put the burden on the citizen are the real joke.

I think that we have to worry about elected officials and police that don't give a shit. That is our main problem. The criminals are criminals. They aren't going to care about anything, ever.

I have lived here my whole life and am looking forward to the great thriving neighborhood of the 1960's and 1970's.
