* Sink Hole on Morse and Glenwood

Alderman and DevCorp North See Nothing
Hole
It started small, as all problems do. This was last week, a 311 call went in to fix this hole.
Hole 1
Behold, this is what we get a week later. A warning sign. How lazy is that? This is the type of work Alderman Moore would do.

With all the so called street work this area has gotten, you figure the Department of Transportation would be all over this growing hole? See the story I linked to was a project early this summer. Lot's of pouring a digging went on,then the gangs marked up the DOT's work. It was corrected with-in two days of posting the story. Maybe this hole can be fixed just as quick?

If we waited for Alderman Moore or DevCorp North to do anything this hole would be deep enough to reach ... you guessed it, HELL.

We had one on Morse between Sheridan and the lake for months and months until it was fixed. Now there is another one. And what about the ones that keep opening up in the middle of Sheridan road? Unfortunately, I am doubtful the repairs will occur in a timely manner unless Mr. Moore actually falls in one of the cave-ins himself.

There has been a lot of sewer work going on further north on Greenview recently and there were some repairs to similar problems on Fargo over the summer. I think this is a fairly widespread problem and is not at all isolated to our hood. Repair work requires a large hole to be dug around the affected area and an inflatable sleeve is inserted into the sewer from a nearby manhole. Once that is done, concrete is poured around the sleeve which takes all day to set. Often, the process needs to be repeated several times to ensure a solid patch. If the sewer system is in really bad shape, there may be a plan in place already to replace the old mains entirely with new concrete pipe. If that is the case, I am sure this hole will remain until that project comes through. What a mess.
