* CAPS Beat 2431 Meeting Tonight - Updated

The CAPS Beat 2431 meeting is tonight at 1530 West Morse Avenue at 7 pm, if you didn't spot one of the dozen fliers around the neighborhood promoting this meeting. That's right, if I didn't know better, CAPS 2431 beat facilitator was trying to keep the attendance low.

Come and talk about the wild west style, gun battle & shoot-out that occurred at the Morse Avenue EL stop last Friday night.

Maybe, just maybe, you will get chewed out by an officer for asking safety questions? If you ask too many important questions on safety, the police officers will call you a cry-baby? Or you will be told to move to someplace safer like Willmette. Or they will tell you to stop coming to CAPS meetings? Or they may threaten to arrest you for disorderly conduct?

It's funded by your tax dollars, so it seems like it's free. Enjoy the show.
**************

Update: About 20 people showed up tonight. Same-ole, same-ole. We listened to the same ole stuff we already knew. The meeting got political as CAPS always does. Fingers were pointed. Why don't I cover this, why did I cover that. Blah, Blah, blah. This coming from a guy who writes about what people wear on the CTA.

One business owner, Tony at JB's pizza (second meeting in two months) and Chris from the Block building showed up.

The 'Broken Heart" - Slumlord of the Year winner in 2004 and 2005, Mr. Medina from 1237-43 West Lunt refuses to co-operate with the community and will only deal with the Alderman. Boy, are we in trouble in that case. As Sheryl Crow says, "There goes the neighborhood!

James Ginderske, fresh from his 2005 CAPS 2431 political award wants to have a gun buy back program. The fancy dressed officer in the back of the room shot it down by saying,"When those (gun buy backs) are held, the old clunker and rusted up guns that don't work anymore are the only guns that get turned in." Although the fancy dressed officer would ask the commander about the plan.

The meeting started with a "lost agenda" and ended the same way.

Craig: Are you planning on taking your martyr act on the road to the CAPs meeting? It seems as if you are baiting the cops to arrest you. Once arrested you can really play the martyr card.

Craig:

So do you plan on provoking the cops to the point where they will arrest you for disorderly conduct?

You have this Jesus thing going, and I just want to know if you're planning on carrying it further.

I hope the cops are smart enough not to fall for your game.
