* Illegal "Open House" Signs on Public Way

April showers bring May flowers. It's another rainy weekend and it didn't stop the flood of condos on the market. Yet, has anyone noticed the number of illegally placed "Open House" signs that have been popping up like weeds on almost every street corner? Or is it just me?

These follow the arrow "Open House" signs are trying to sell these over-abundant condo units. It used to be people selling their homes would put one sign up, in front of their house. It used to be home-owners would take out ads in newspapers. Not anymore.

These cookie cutter condo builders now litter the neighborhood with these sidewalk blocking, "Open House" - arrow signs.

Doesn't our Streets and Sanitation guy Mike Erickson know this is an illegal activity? It's no different than the campaign sign. When these signs are placed on the public way, they need to be thrown in the trash.

But that's not happening here. Is someone asleep at the wheel?

Or is this a political favor for all the campaign contributions to Alderman Moore from Rich Aronson?

I counted over a dozen signs place all over the neighborhood illegally this weekend alone for two projects Camolot is working on. The Pinewood Inn project and the Greenleaf project. If you have seen these "Open House" signs up close, you notice they have detachable covers for the arrows, depending on which direction you place the sign illegally.

The old saying is, If it's not nailed down, Alderman Moore will try to sell it. In this case, we sell Rogers Park to Aronson Park. After-all Rich Aronson is the official realtor of the 49th ward. Why not allow Rich Aronson to put his open house advertising on every freaking street corner, with-in six blocks of every project he has on the market? He paid for it with his campaign contributions.

We need to put a stop to this before it gets out of hand. Wait, it's already out of hand.

If these signs get put up next weekend and Streets and Sanitation guy Mike Erikson doesn't do his job and remove them, we will have to find someone who will.
