As Alderman Moore keeps telling the world media "what my ward wants," regarding the Big-Box ordinance, (FYI: It's a week old already) comes these already in the hopper - public works projects.
Can anyone tell us when the Alderman's 'Golden Shovel - Groundbreaking Ceremony' will be for the Morse Avenue Streetscape?
Blog Bonus Points: Tell us when the Gale Fieldhouse project will start?
Extra - Extra: How about when the new Fire Station on Clark Street - When will that project start?

After 15-plus years of non-stop lying, how could anyone expect Joe Moore to be able to tell the difference between facts and his fantasy world?
Joe's fancy new website talks about all these projects as "things he's accomplished".. that would make me laugh if it weren't so sad.
As I have said several times we need to vote Joe Moore out of office, he has done NOTHING!! Based on this story as well as all the other story's Graig has posted on this site. How long are we going to made fools of, this asshole doesn't care about the people in his ward, his friends & businees asociates are taken care of.
Time has come VOTE JOE OUT!!!
> Joe's fancy new website talks about all these projects as "things he's accomplished"
The "accomplishments" page will turn your stomach.
Accomplishments
I don't know where to get started on fact-checking this. Half the items are future accomplishments. Another half have nothing to do with the alderman's office.
John on Farwell is correct why go the Joes website for factual information? I can see going there for laughs, for getting ill reading the bullshit about what Joe did. See Joe, See Joe open his mouth, See lies comeing out of Joes mouth!
Let's make Joe go away!! Veto Joe out of office!! Do this for the good of the 49th ward!!
New data was released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis on federal employee wages and benefits. The data for 2005 shows that compensation for the average federal civilian worker ($106,579) is now exactly double the average compensation in the U.S. private sector ($53,289). Source (unlike Mr. Moore, I cite my sources): See Tables 6.2D, 6.5D, and 6.6D here, www.bea.gov/bea/dn/nipaweb/index.asp.
What has this to do with Moore, big box law, or anything else? It shows that government is very good about taking from the private sector to enrich itself. Let's not kid ourselves that government (local, state, or federal) passes laws and regs for the rest of us or even the disadvantaged without there being a LARGER benefit to government. And where does government get the $ to pay itself? Taxpayers.
What is Moore's new salary? Better yet, what is is when you factor in all benefits?
Real progressives would be about cutting government spending and getting government out of peoples' lives. They wouldn't be bragging about how much cash they were able to grab from the till. I say let's post pictures of all of Moore's "accomplishments." The trailers behind Field School should make for a nice pic; ditto the lovely Gale park. And let's put the $ amount of each under the pic.
At last month's Jargowood meeting, the word from Joe's office was that demolition of the existing building at the site of the new firehouse would happen this fall, with construction of the new firehouse to start early next year.
Will this happen before or after the Gale Park feildhouse, or the holes in teh ground on Morse and Clark?
They said at the Jargowood meeting that the city had purchased the land for the fire station and was in the process of getting the order to vacate the property so that demolition could be scheduled.
On Target, Wal-Mart and other big box stores, they may very well continue the pattern they've started - building just across the street in the nearest suburb (Niles, Burbank, Evergreen Park, etc.).
If Morse streetscape starts on time and fieldhouse gets built, that will be a signal that Moore's ambitions for higher office have been purchased by City Hall. If they don't start, it's retribution -- and rightly so.

Last night (Tues) Moore spoke on the big box ordinance, and in the questions & answers afterward, as an aside came up that:
"... the community center just got their permits and should start building within the next couple of weeks."
