* Racially Insensitive Party Hosted By Candidates Daughter

I'm not a parent, but I can tell you, if I was, I would talk to my daughter about posting stuff like this on the internet. I came across the website a few weeks ago when Don Gordon's daughter was recruiting people to help on her father's campaign via Craig's list website.

What I saw, shocked even me.

First, in Shanna's profile, Shanna promotes underage drinking as a general interest. Update, link remove by the Gordon campaign.

Underage drinking as a hobby? Who in the world taught her that? Isn't it against the law and dangerous too? If underage drinking occurs in a parents house, isn't the parent responsible?

Then there's this party photo. A pimps and hoe's party. A PIMP & HOE's PARTY? My word. How racially insensitive! For a man to claim to be diverse in all his campaign talk, this isn't the way to let your children party. In today's super sensitive culture, this isn't the way anyone should party.

We have a real bad pattern here. Now, it's looking like the other guy should be focusing on teaching his children to be more racially sensitive and less time telling us how to keep other children safe.

I'm all for a good party, everyone knows that. But this. Underage drinking? Pimps and Hoe's Party? What was she thinking when she held this party and posted this information? From the looks of things, the other guy needs to focus on issues at home.

It's time for this guy to get out of the race and go back to Parenting School 101 - ASAP.

Did you miss a dose of your medication, Craig? WTF? We have REAL Pimps and Prostitutes near Clark and Morse.

You post about rapists living in violation of their parole, yet you're out there cruising myspace for young girls' websites. Creepy.

The REAL drinking problem is the young black men who cruise the neighborhood with a 40, a blunt, and a gun.

You have done so much good work for the community, Craig. Your results have come when you "report" on real problems. Perhaps you need a reminder of what they are:

1. An ineffective Alderman who cares more about national politics, geese, and developers than local problems.

2. Crime: drugs, goonings, policework (good and bad), prostitution, grafitti, and the hordes of young black men that walk around the neighborhood being useless and causing problems.

3. Propoerty owners who are not responsible for their buildings, inclluding screening for criminals.

Everything else, including your latest bi-polar tirade against a young woman is minutae.

I wonder if the Gordons will let themself be photographed standing in front of their office flashing gang signs.

That said, i doubt anyone will think Don's reprezentin'. Or maybe he's courting the Block-building vote.

As the song goes, "It's hard out there for a pimp"

Craig --

I fail to see how having a "pimps and hoes" party is racially insensitive. Are you upset because there are no minority groups represented in the party? Are you just pissed off because you weren't invited?

The only thing about this girl that concerns me is that she's at Northwestern and her spelling and grammar are worse than yours.

How is a "pimp & hoe" party racially insensitive? In your view does one particular race have a corner on the sex trade? Please explain.

Yes it is racist! It has become acceptable to use unfortunate by-products of cultural alienation as themes for a party. "Mom being Ghetto" is a mockery as well. I have dealt with these people and they have the privelege of being white protecting them. Of course it is a joke when they dress up like ho's. If his darling daughter were really a ho' it would be "white slavery" instead of her just being a skank.
The fact that his daughter goes to Northwestern does not imply that she qualifies academically. I'm sure that the fine institution has got its share of folks who cannot spell or have atrocious grammar. That doesn't count when daddy can pay the bills. He can buy his little precious an education and he probably paid for the liquor at that party. Let's not allow him to purchase an election.
Daddy Warbucks is even more diconnected than Moore. It's about more than rich white girls getting drunk and high. This guy isn't aware of the community around him much less what goes on in his home.
Maybe he will do us a favor and stay behind that overgrown hedge to keep an eye on his child gone wild. Send her ass to community college or trade school so she won't be a ho' with an expensive degree.

Craig,

I think you have been drinking through this whole generation X lifestyle. This is the generation these kids are growing up in. Rap videos (which not only African Americans are in) are glamorizing the lifestyle of being a pimp. This is normal to them and by no means raciest. By you insinuating that a "pimps and ho's party" would be racially motivated, is almost a raciest comment in itself. I really believe you should keep your day job and post real issues in the community. I believe you have fallen off your rocker or bar stool.

RP Everyman,

If you could dig up some pictures of what some people may think is immoral and politically incorrect (Craig’s dads lifestyle), that would be great. I really wish he could feel the anger that Don Gordon probably has after reading this post. By the way, I laughed hard enough that my cheek bones started to hurt on this one “I imagine there are more than a few shots of your dad and some studly young thing all greased up for action...”

For everyone else which may think this party is raciest...

Stop following Craig's lead. Your next step will be to follow him to Wako, TX. You need to open your eyes.

They were holding up three fingers at a baseball game, can we say "three strikes" or maybe "three up and three down" as in three straight strike outs? How ignorant are you folks?

And as far as the 'theme' party comments, I guess we should all go protest Crobar for making that popular. They host a party like that EVERY YEAR. That's my two cents, and about all this blog is worth.

Good golly Miss Molly. If Gordon is not the right candidate for the ward, then let's get the reasons. Chasing his daughter on the web is not the way to do it. It's a modern form of yellow journalism that serves up a titillating distraction and not much else. I refuse to believe that thinking people of all races and ethnicities can't figure that much out.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that blog goes private real soon. Of course the damage is done, but hey - all is fair at election time, right Craig?

In the interst of fairness I believe the HellHole should now post photographs of ALL the candidates without their shirts on.

Oh Miss Slinky...really. Tarts and Vicars?!Of course there is an origin for every tradition but you are reaching with that analogy. This was a bunch of white kids trying to be cool and if there were underage people there you can bet they were drinking. Off duty cop as neighbor notwithstanding, this was a kids gone wild video.
As for my reference to white slavery, I am quite aware of the true definition. My point is the double standard that is implicit in the term. I don't have a set of rose colored glasses when it comes to prostitution or the creepy pimps that live off of the women selling their bodies. You however, seem a bit star struck. Just because some hack sitcom star has the same kind of party does that give it legitimacy? No. It reinforces my point. People of a certain social and cultural status can make fun of a degrading lifestyle without much consequence. It's "cute" "kids having fun". I dare say Miss Slinky, what do you smell when your head is up your self-righteous ass?
As for you Positron: How sweet of you to come to your friend's defense. It's also mighty white of you to say "hell one of my roommates was black...it was like the UN with beer". What made it the UN with beer? The naked Asian girl on the bed chugging the beer? Thanks for clarifying that it wasn't in the ward where your good friend lives. It is quite chivalrous of you to take the heat. The problem is that Mr. Gordon is positioning himself as the paradigm of family values and it is bullshit. Maybe someone out there has the pictures of him and that fat guy chasing the black teenagers down the street with baseball bats "taking back my neighborhood". Was one of those teenagers your "roommate" or do you only hang out with the "right" kind of black people.
One more thing Miss Slinky:Hip-hop culture being pervasive all over the world indicates a decline of civilization. Our children are speaking a bastardization of English, young men think that there is a REAL career to be had as rappers. The next time you see a seven year old doing a "booty clap" -as I witnessed on Morse the other day as her really young mother looked on- talk to me about youth culture all over the world.

runestone said...

For your information a booty clap is a vigorous clapping of the ass cheeks together as if clapping the hands.
Miss Slinky, I leave the lectures to you. It is no surprise that you see being a rapper as a good career move if they can make it. I happen to be a woman Miss Slinky. I witnessed the baseball bat incident and was horrified. It isn't stupid. It's called being a vigilante and a little group called the klan is famous for such action.
As for hip hop contributing to the decline of civilization, I happen to feel it is true. There is the trend of having street credibility by going to jail. A nice example to set when a disproportionate number of black youths are incarcerated. Hello Little Kim appearing on an awards show in an orange jail jumpsuit. Suge Knight, 50 Cent there are quite a few who can barely put a sentence together and they have made it in what you call a good career. They have also shot people, been shot, and committed various sundry crimes. That girl put the mud out there on a public forum that she used to recruit volunteers for her father. A child's character does speak to the character of the parent Miss Slinky. YOU should know this. How would you feel if your little ones got a little street cred by mugging someone or doing a booty clap in front of the local drunks. Would you encourage it as an early career move?

Hi Lady,

I happen to agree with you to a certain degree. There is some positive hip hop. However that is not the stuff being glorified or the intrusive stuff being blasted from gut rumbling subwoofers driving down the street setting off alarms. I was just listening to someone who "sampled" Sly and the Family Stone rapping of the Glock he was packing and the rocks he had to make bank on. I have found the majority of the stuff to be derivative musically and really boring. I do try Lady. I just don't enjoy the stuff and the media glorifies the negative as do people who have "fun" pimp/ho parties. Thanks for the chuckle Mr. Westgard.

As someone who has known Shanna Gordon for many years, I have to say I am absolutely shocked and appalled at how anyone, and I mean anyone, could speak poorly of her, and think that if you actually gave a damn about the accuracy of your implacations, or if you had even the slightest bit of integrity you NEVER would've posted this crap.

Which do you think is more indicitive of one's character, whether or not one has ever been to a party (as this is OBVIOUSLY such an unheard of thing for 19 years olds, and I bet no one here EVER had a drink before the legal age, right?) or how one treats people? I can say I have never seen an individual, or a family, more loving and caring than Shanna Gordon and the Gordon family. Whenever someone needed a place to stay, guess who would open their door and say "Come on in, mi casa su casa"? The Gordons. When no one else was on my side, the Gordon's were. Shanna has helped me through all of the most significant hardships I've faced since I've known her, as have Don, Bonnie, and Megan.

So, in short, the insinuations of this post are 100% absolute pure horseshit, and if anyone takes this shit seriously, please, don't vote, as you are most certainly not qualified to.
