* I Voted Today - Did You?
It's 4:30 p.m., and I set up my tripod for this photo. I'm also pooped. And so is my roving sidekick Cota. I'm standing at blue cone's distance from my polling place, Morningside Court, 1250 West Morse. Precinct 26. There are 583 registered voters, 173 have passed through the turn-styles at this point. Turnout is going well.
Blognotes: Now to my voting stub. I'm proud to display this today. It's not only a honor to choose which candidate I voted for, it's what I consider my duty. After all, if you don't vote, don't bitch, right? I was able to vote without being pressured into saying who I was for (okay, that's a stretch) - no one twisted my arm and I wasn't given any special favors. I voted for the best man I felt could lead the 49th ward in the right direction. I voted today - Did you?

Voters make better lovers!!
Good post Craig. Are you squatting out some more numbers?
hahahahahaha.
Interesting. Craig, do you remember the post you put up a couple of months ago with the title somewhere along the lines of "Why I Could Vote for Chris Adams"?
In the post you mentioned that you weren't going to vote but that if you were to, you'd vote for Chris.
I commented and basically said that you shouldn't feel you have to tell people who you're voting for, but that it was pretty ironic that you weren't going to vote considering the amount of time you put into this blog.
Within a couple of hours, the post disappeared. I'm curious as to why you felt that way originally and/or why you changed your mind?
I voted at the fire station around 2:30PM and was told that I was #100 at that precinct.
-- Disclaimer: Haved lived in IL for less than a year and am not affiliated with any candidate. Have never written a check or done any work for any of them.
I voted at the Loyola gym around 5pm. Joe Moore was standing next to a booth attempting to "instruct" a very confused elderly immigrant lady on how to vote. I told a couple of the poll workers that Moore should be removed and one worker from another of the precincts came over and interefered with Moore's "assistance."
If all of these Moore polling-place incidents actually happened, what is the penalty? What does the law say? A fine? Disqualification? As blatant as he seems to have been, it seems as though he knows he will get a way with it - and that is an outrage.
I just called Election HQ (866-536-3496) and told of the reports that have been posted here and elsewhere about Moore electioneering at polling places, shaking hands, "helping" people vote and wearing a poller watcher badge. The lady said that 1. it is illegal, 2, she thinks they have had reports because her records show that they have "sent some people up there" (to the ward) and 3. she had herself had heard about the donut box with Moore's name at Potawatamee this morning.
I confirmed from her that all of the reported activities are illegal, I asked what would be done, she said it would be "investigated" but her tone was of resignation, that not much might happen.
She said to get any action on it, reports should be filed at each of the polling places/precincts where the incidents occured, by people involved, witnesses, and poll watchers. I mentioned the Loyola gym and the nursing homes reported previously, but said that I had no first hand knowledge so I could'nt report anything myself.
I said I would personally be following up on it locally though because I find it outrageous, and she said, enthusiastically, "good for you, good!" So - there's the answer, yes, it's illegal, yes it's being reported and looked into, and no, there will probably not be consequences unless people MAKE them happen.
At Loyola they're saying, " Craig looks like Tommy Lee Jones!"
