* Where's Alderman Moore? Where's Mr. Rider? Where's CAPS?

Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., I had a court date. When I walked out of the court room one and a half hours later, I felt not only the system failed, I felt my life could be harmed at anytime and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

I was screwed.

All because I tried to follow what has been preached at CAPS beat 2431 meetings ever since I can remember. Call 911 when you see a crime.

It gets worse. The system failed the community another way. Mr. Rider made a promise to Alderman Moore and failed to keep his promise. No one from the Rider building showed up to testify, in their OWN case.

I was left holding the bag. And the states attorney originally wanted to drop the case.

I was persistent and pestered the states attorney to use me as the witness, as I didn't want to come back and do this again if they asked for a continuance. She accepted my plea. We worked on a agreement that said, how do I put it, the agreement sucked. But I took it. It's the best I was going to get. Some big deal.

I got a guilty plea - the dude got a walk. I negotiated to keep him from climbing on the 1345 West Lunt along with 1340 West Morse in the middle of the night for six months. No fines, no zip.

Wait, there's more. It gets worse.

He had a buddy in court with him. His buddy, I've seen many times before. He hangs with the open air drug market crowd. Guess what? The tables got turned on me. He was photographing me with his cel-phone camera. Yes, I told my states attorney. There was nothing she could do. She said

Now, I'm left holding the bag, all alone, and no one was there for back-up. I was the only face they had to study, to photograph, to memorize for a hour and a half. Like I said, I'm screwed.

Blognotes: I got the kids name and address, but at this point, no one stuck up for me while I was sticking up for Mr. Rider, why should I publish his name and where he lives to save any of you from his next victim.

Let's hope no harm comes to you.
It's too bad the managers of that place can't be bothered.

I heard about this building in Don Gordon's flyer. I'm sure Don was there in spirit. Unfortunately, it's hard to get a spirit to testify.

I'm sorry that pretty much EVERYONE let you down Craig. If there were 10 people there, they couldn't just focus on you. And if someone like the Alderman was there, it would send a message also.

I am hoping these guys are as big of losers that they seem to be, which means they have the attention spans of a knat and will soon forget about you.

Yeah that was quite low down on their part. They obviously didn't give a damn that someone was entering their buildings. Keep the faith though.

Joe was probably exhausted after trying to greet people at the Howard El. Why didn't he send his favorite corporate counsel who's been working on the Ryder building? That dude works miracles with plea bargains. So where was Cosgrove? That's his big claim to fame, the buildings specialist who attends court hearings etc.

Perhaps you and other good citizens of the community should take a walk west on Pratt across Ridge into the 50th Ward and continue on until you reach the northwest corner of Bell and Pratt. Wait for the owner of the home there to appear... State's Attorney Dick Devine himself,,, and calmly inform him of the quality of service his office has been providing the people of the 49th Ward that lies not even three blocks to the east of his residence.

It is a federal offense to photograph people in a courtroom.
Please inform me if this is what has happened.
The DA office would like to know.

Graig: You should inform the police at the 24th about what happened and give them the names or description of the "guys" who where burning your face in their minds.

Sad to say they will be looking for you they no your in the neighborhood, and your where there to put one of their own in jail, those dudes don't like that!

That's really weird that no one showed up, Craig. You have so many friends on this blog.

No cameras or recording equipment allowed in any courtroom. The sign on the court room door reads.

There are exceptions but this is not one of them.
Judge Judy and the like.
OJ and other high profile cases.
Little GB with stollen cell phones do not count.
DA' s a asking is this what happened?
The fastest way for you to find out what law is being broken is for you to walk into a court room and start taping.
Let us know what statute you violated.
