Blognotes by Hugh: Oh. Sorry, my bad, this press release is from 7 years ago, from before two aldermanic elections ago. Sorry everybody.

This firehouse was election talk in 2002-03. So was that Field House with NO ACTION BY JOE to get it going for years.
A block club couldn't put up a sign Moore approved then denied approving citing one excuse that Mayor Daley doesn't like signs cluttering a neighborhood. Duh, what's this monster? New neighbors need to ask long time residents how long this firehouse has been in the works.
I'm glad he put this sign up - now it proves the sign in Gale Park is a POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT.
Let me get this straight, nothing happens, no signs put up of future building projects, then during election time signs pop-up presenting the voters about projects that are several years old. Joe thinks this will make everyone give him votes for the great work he is doing for the ward.
Since transfering back to the city I was raised in I have to ask myself. Joe was aldermen for I think 16yrs. Are we as stupid as Joe thinks we are? We have to look in the mirror and ask, Why do we keep voteing in someone who we all know for fact does very little to improve the 49th ward.
Excuse me but this is city (read: public) property and campaigning is expressly disallowed on public property. I think we should all call the Mayor's office and complain.
Please call 311, give the address, and report an illegal sign. Thanks!
Moore is the perpetual Alderman of the Future.
What is illegal about that sign?
charlie -- that sign may legal since it's not overt campaigning but it's not right because it's meant to be campaigning. i'm tired of people staying just this side of the law, technically, but spitting on the spirit of laws. if god put that sign up and he were in a runoff election, i'd be pissed. we need to quit excusing this stuff irrespective of whether it's joe or daley or any other politico (and we can say the same for business people, etc.)
> What is illegal about that sign?
false advertizing:
"Getting it Done - Alderman Joe Moore"
okay craig, this post is very misleading. is this billboard by ald moore currently up? or is this from seven years ago? if it's from seven years ago, big whoop...btw, Jarvis still smells like piss.
It's a political advertisement, presumably using public funds. Definitely fraudulent advertising. Do ya think Joe's counting on lack of knowledge on the part of all the Trixies and Chads (new condo owners from Lincoln Park and Lakeview) who do not know the history on this? My guess is yes.
New billboard advertisement - old press release.
Go by the 7300 block of North Clark, near the Mega Mall to see Alderman Moore's fancy new sign.
You can't miss it - it's in front of a DevCorp North favorite, the boarded up window project.
Craig, thank you for the bump. Thanks to this blog I was aware of the current status of the firehouse project, but my curiosity is about the current status of the Mega Mall itself. Did the longtime owner force the City to select a secondary site with actual thriving businesses to be evicted only to somehow then cash out himself? What IS the Alderman's position on the Maga mall at this time? Is the position known?
