* Midnight Power Outage Hits Rogers Park

Reset your clocks. Last night the power was cut off to residents for about an hour and a half in the east Rogers Park area. The area involved was Howard on the north to Pratt on the south, Sheridan on the east, and west to Glenwood. This area has a high concentration of senior homes, which are high priority during a power outage. All traffic lights along Sheridan road were not functioning due to the lack of electricity. About 1:30AM., the power was restored. No word on what caused the power outage.

The lights flicked in my apartment late last night and the TV/cable went out for a second, then everything was normal. At first, I thought it a problem in my buidling alone, but now I know.

Considering the large area involved, they got to the bottom of it and got it fixed pretty quickly. A good reminder to buy batteries :)

To bad the morons driving on Sheridan don't know they have to stop at non-functioning traffic signals. Somebody could have got killed. How do these people get licenses? The cops were sitting in the middle of Sheridan with the lights on and they still blew through...
